What is Duelyst
Similiar to hearthstone - It's a 40 card deck building stratergy game that you compete against the other online player
It has opening gambit [ battle cry ] / death wish [ death rattle ] / provoke [ taunt ] and some other stuff
Gold earning is similar to hearthstone, completing quest or finishing the whole tutorial to buy a card pack [ 5 inside with one gurantee rare or higher ]

Unlike hearthstone, its on a grid based stratergy board where most of the cards can move around or interact with it, including the general.

General can be equipped with artifacts [ equipment ] to bolster its quirkiness
Also each faction has its own unique theme, quirks and strengths,
e.g.

Lyonar faction boast itself with high hp units, heals, zeal ( will activate bonus if unit is standing next to general )

or

Abyssian faction plays around mass summoning cheap units by ability / spells and sacrificing it to gain a bonus advantage [ e.g. One unit's quirkl is death of any minion will deal 1 damage to the opposing general while healing you ] or playing around shadow creep and not allowing board freedom for the opposing general / units

Also the sprite art is nice
Especially for various faction that focus on its design theme / colours

Bump. Anyone still playing Duelyst or has just picked up Duelyst? Was a MtG, Hearthstone players & just picked up Duelyst & gotta say I'm seriously impressed.

Pay to win just like Hearthstone. I've been playing the same budget deck for almost a month now (Midrange Kara), because I'm trying to craft my first set of legendaries, I'm already really bored of it. Thankgod for Battlerite and Paladins. It takes two weeks just to craft one set of legendaries (x3 cards). Yes less than Hearthstone, but they are not Blizzard, this is just a who knows what indie card game that might shut down anytime (Mojang's Scrolls). Not to mention, a lot of veterans already have butt load of epics and legendaries, good luck beating them without spending a penny on packs. I'm rank 13.

Not to downplay your concerns but coming from Hearthstone & the state it is right now, I couldn't be happier to stumble upon Duelyst. Duelyst's Orb is so much cheaper compared to Hearthstone & the legendary card drop rate (albeit weaker) is a lot higher than Hearthstone. The daily quest is also much better conditioned compared to Hearthstone since it's easier to achieve (play X faction for Y times compared to Hearthstone's play X class & win Y times).

I guess time will tell how Duelyst will develop / survive.

Year old player here.. Purely abyssian player.. Anyone else still playing?

I've played for ~3 weeks as Vetruvian faction, I'm just guessing, as there's no way to see the opponent's deck and rematch with him, Songhai's the too advantaged faction. Just make ~1/2 your deck a) & the other ~1/2 b) as below,

a) ranged & backstab units/ & Chakri Avatar.

b)+4 Atk/+2 HP, reactivate, Juxtapose, unit teleport spells


and you keep use the game in- built free replace card function to get the combo of a) & b), wins all games easily no matter what.


I personally prefer card games that don't get free card replacement + the art sucks.

Actually the strongest faction in the previous meta(before the mini expansion) is lyonar.. To be exact.. Argon.. Songhai fast reva was super strong before the nerf.. But the nerf kinda hit them pretty badly. I actually really like the replace function.. It minimize dowb the luck and make deck building tighter. Im a long time magic the gathering player and very competitive too. So the replace function is quite refreshing for me
