Hi, I am an academic doing some research on social media, and I want to publicise my survey (non-commercial, purely academic) to readers on Lowyat .

I want to ask moderators first, in case I am going to go against the rules of the relevant forum.

How can I find out who is the moderator of a forum/sub-forum?

Thanks smile.gif

Post at kopitiam, before this there's rule stating academic survey must give details and ask for mods approval first. But now I can't seem to find back the rule, but better still do as the old way.

Thanks that's helpful smile.gif I was thinking of Koptiam. But how did you know who the moderators are? Is is indicated somewhere?

Summon them as below, start with bracket then @, then name and close bracket.

Thanks all for the advice, I'm pleased to know I can do an academic survey here, and the rules to follow.

Sorry just one more question - if I was to post in many threads, would it be considered spamming?

Actually my survey relates to everyone really - it's not a specialised thing because I want find out how all types of people use social media in their everyday life.

Here's the text I used in Kopitiam, but some gentle souls pointed out that I may get any kind of nonsense there (fun nonsense, because that's what the thread is about).

Hi my name is Julian Hopkins, and I'm a lecturer at Monash University Malaysia.

My email is: julian DOT hopkins AT monash DOT edu

I'm doing a research project about how Malaysians use social media (including email, WhatsApp, etc.) in their everyday life.

It's a short survey - no more than ten minutes - and there's a Lucky Draw as a small thank you to participants (5 x RM50 Aeon Jusco Vouchers)

Please click here to do the survey now: http://bit.ly/my-socialmedia

And I will be really grateful rclxm9.gif

And you can share it on your social media too if you like thumbup.gif

There's a Facebook page too if you want to check it out: https://www.facebook.com/mysocialmedia2015/
