600 exhibitors at education fair

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 300 booths and 600 exhibitors will fill Halls 3 and 4 of Putra World Trade Centre today at this year's second Facon Education Fair 2008.

The fair promises to be fun and educational as the exhibitors will be giving demonstrations and presentations which include a dance performance, shadow boxing and a fashion show.

Facon Exhibitions Sdn Bhd general manager Wong Kum San said Malaysia had become a "paper-chasing" country where it was necessary to a have degree or even a postgraduate degree.

"Courses are becoming more specialised so that graduates with specific degrees have a more secure future."

With participants from Japan, China, Holland, Singapore and many other nations, Facon presents one of the largest and most diverse education fairs in the country.
"This is a unique chance to meet prestigious and renowned organisations under one roof," Wong said.

Potential students should bring their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia, A-Levels or O-Levels forecast results so representatives from the institutions can make on-the-spot assessments and offers.

Students can also apply for scholarships and other financial assistance at the fair.

The two-day fair will be open from noon to 6pm.

The fair will be at Holiday Villa Hotel in Alor Star on Dec 9, Traders Hotel in Penang on Dec 10, Syuen Hotel in Ipoh on Dec 11, Avillion Legacy in Malacca on Dec 12 and Hyatt Regency in Johor Baru on Dec 14.

Admission is free. For more information, visit www.faconex.com
