Want gossip a little bit here.
The screen brightness of RN2 for sure lose to Mi3 with max brightness 467 nit, Mi3 max brightness can go up till 557 nit.
But contrast ratio wise, RN2 screen is higher contrast with darker black on bright screen. This means that at the same brightness, RN2 black level is better than Mi3, but the different is not much.
Normally I'm using the phone with just half brightness. Anything that actually reach more than 250 nit hurt my eye.
The Galaxy S3 screen is the most dim screen with just 330nit max brightness, so don't say it will more bright than the RN2 screen.

Less ppi = Less sharp? Can naked eye tell the different?
I have a 6" 1080p screen, with just 368 ppi, a 5.5" 2K screen with 534ppi, 5" 1080p screen with 441 ppi, and this RN2 with 401 ppi.

By no means I can tell any different between the sharpness among the screen, I only can differentiate among the screen quality where viewing angle, contrast and color reproduction differ more obvious among screen.
So, the 6" screen is just as sharp, small text display are crisp and clear, even fine detail is shown properly, no pixelate effect.

Indeed, I found the 6" phone screen is more enjoyable to watch.
I actually found the 6" screen show more detail to my eye where the 5.5" or 5" screen can't show, it directly zoom everything bigger, so the smaller detail also much easier to be noticed by naked eye.

Compare side by side with the 5" 1080p screen, of course 5" screen will magically look sharper, this is because our brain and eye will perceive everything that look smaller is sharper,
but when displaying the same content, both screen actually remain sharp, then the 6" screen actually show more fine detail than the small screen.

Then, by zooming out the content to make the text on 6" screen to have the same physical size as the 5" screen, then the 6" screen will look more sharper than 5" screen.
It is our brain trick.

Even screen at 7", 1080p is still plenty sharp with 323 ppi, so virtually on smartphone, any screen with 1080p actually virtually eliminate the pixelate effect that you normally can see on normal LCD monitor or LCD TV.
