2lions is a username for a reviewer at ActionTrip. Very famous. And in his 'own words' about the DEMO :

One user comments that mods and patches will help the overall game release and that we should have patience.

It's not a matter of me having patience. It's a matter of consumers being willing to give them a chance. Which is becoming doubtful. Not because what I think but what the mood is around the web.

It seems the Beta > Demo. Everyone is questioning Flagship Studios. Some are saying 'they ran out of money' and they are doing things at a minimal level right now, including not updating stuffs online and keeping gamers informed, in a timely manner.

Again from the source :
On the other hand, the demo simply doesn't offer any sort of decent gameplay that could tell me whether I'd like this one or not in the long run. In addition, yeah, Hellgate does lack polish. The performance is shitty even on a decent system and in DX9. I guess it does feel like a beta in that way and to think it's already gone gold, doesn't really fill me with much hope.

Look, the purpose of a demo is to get ppl to want to buy the actual game. So, if the demo sucks, it doesn't really matter if the actual game is jaw-droppingly awesome: Nobody's going to get it.

You could say that "Oh but its just the newbie area, and that does suck monkey balls". Well if that's the case, why put the super sucky newbie mode in the bloody demo when the purpose of the demo is to highlight the better parts of the game?

From what I've read everywhere else, it seems the beta > demo but I'm not really that interested anymore.

A demo is still a demo, it always incomplete, and crappier than actual game, judging based from my experience on demos. Many people complained the Serious Sam 2 demo yet I enjoyed it.

Call me too lenient or suck up, I still give this game a chance when it comes out.

Crappier than the actual game? In what way? Graphics are bland in the demo, and then superb high-quality graphics in the full release? Mediocre and dated gameplay in the demo, and then incredibly high-octance action in the full release? How this is making any sense?

The demo is totally screwed. Yes, demo is NOT how the final release will be but the bloody purpose of the demo is to (read my words one-by-one) :

HELP US DECIDE WHETHER TO BUY THE FINAL GAME OR NOT

And this demo absolutely blew its chances on me...

Nothing convinces me to buy the game. Not even the 'other' version. This is how much I think of the game after a week. And yes Beta > Demo. But the Demo is what I got. Nuff' said. I'll be forgetting this game.

PC Gamer recently gave Hellgate:London an 69 out of 100. Its cited reasons for the low score were its lack of solid and fresh take on the Diablo gameplay style. The review also pointed out the lack of a solid single player or story and the murky future of the subscription service.

nay.. its 89, great score. must be vandals. no citation though..
