I guess I should have said it's hard to find a job in Singapore. Unless I have the skills set they need that the locals can't offer, I will never find any job there.
*
in blue, spot-on, there is one skill that locals can't offer >>>non-kiasu/kiasi, like me when I first step my foot here, I came with a mind set that I have got NOTHING TO LOSE ANYWAY

this is a skill that you can put to good use.

if one starts to compare too much with his/her current comfort zone, then bangwall.gif bangwall.gif no venture u ll never know for the good or/ bad:thumbsup:

if you ask me, for engineer, registered PE here is professional. graduate engineer not professional.. no?? graduate engineer may not even falls in the executive bracket

the bracket shows min 3300 from executive to professional. if I remember correctly its from Q1, Q2, P1 & P2

graduate engineer in MOM text depend on institute listing. most college university in msia is not in MOM list. see the listing in MOM website, u will be surprised. for example, only UM is acceptable for PE here

I have nothing to lose too. I even lower my salary expectation to the point where the company will have nothing to lose too if they were to hire me. Too bad, like what XiuKeong has stated, most companies are looking for Singaporeans/PR only. I guess that's more prevalent for HR positions.
*
in blue, that the new Singapore core assessment policy by MOM

need to sabra la

its MOM requirement now, vacancy need to lock in job-bank for a set period, open to only sin/pr only. employer need to prove singaporen core assessment before can hire others

so whatever advertised in jobstreet or other portals means they have gone through job-bank and there were no local candidates applying then only they can open to foreign applicants?
*
I don't know how jobstreet / other portal works. but u are right on the second part >>no local candidates hired (after MOM job-bank) then only they can hire for EP/SP/WP

one senerio here, for example A co. after the job-bank period and after several local/pr interviews and non take-up, the hr will start to open up write-in(s) to call up.

it seems somehow, Malaysian knew this '"A"" company has vacancy lock in job bank, just start to write/drop in their resume.
can you see that one step ahead here ???? probably even before jobjalan advertise or maybe what u apply thru jobjalan than may not even reach A co hr

Lol, dun knw wat u mean.... the exam i refering to, everyone need to take and passed one ok, is some sort of technical paper...... Dun care u r graduate from australia, uk, usa, um , or uum..... As for malaysian, long as u passed and recognized by BEM, u can proceed further to 2nd paper, which is regarding cop and ss....... Pass again , u canprepare ur experience log book, and go sit for board interview.......  rclxm9.gif PE

Dun mislead ppl tat oni UM graduate can register as PE in sg ....ok .......
Sekian
*
not misled.. u are wrong here to assume all degree recognized by BEM & eligible to register as graduate eng with BEM, makes he/she eligible to register SG PEB for PE.

the route to PE(sin) btw a UM & non UM graduate is different la. read my writing >> the route

Yester years only route 2 & 5

either your get your Ir in Malaysia first , or you take another degree in SG

- Degree recognize by BEM is not automatically recognize by PE Board or IES ( in this case only UM )
- Ir register with BEM is recognize by PE Board , can carry the title over

Route 4 : You may get clarification on your degree from PE board they can tell you immediately or after an interview , whether they can accept your degree for registration.
If your a Malaysian grad not from UM and got register , would like to hear your story ( PM better )
*
yes, u r right in blue.

till now, its still route 2 & 5. no change to eligibility.

of course, route 4 for appeal case. (for uni not in the list). for Malaysian they always advise u to do route 2 & see u again when u r one
