- If you work less than 183 days you are not a tax resident and pay flat 15% tax or progressive tax rates as locals (whichever is higher).

Not a tax resident, why still pay flat 15% tax or progressive tax rate?

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the new thread!

My PR status is still pending but I've changed to a new employment with new E-pass and better salary.

What should I do next? I heard I need to fill up the Annex A from Form 4A again right?
*
How much tax for a PR holder? Thx

Hello all, I recently resign from my job and I am pretty much interested to work in Singapore. I just want to ask is it easy to get a job in Singapore and what is the benchmark pay that I should be eyeing in order to pay for necessities.
*
It depends on what skills you have, some may cant cope with the stress and workload here in Sg. However, some may think that everything is justified here in Sg, you get what you work for, the environment is so peaceful and you get to fully focus on your career.
In Malaysia, sales and Marketing get more paid than professional position.
In Singapore, your paid was justified by what certification you have, and what your skills and experiences are.

Back to your question, it depends on your personality and lifestyle. If you enjoy spending your time on mamak talk, meeting friends. Stay where you are.
If you have a professional degree, want to work in somewhere everybody serious about their job, frugal a saving for future family plan, come to Sg.

Earn 3k and get taxed 450 every month?  rclxub.gif

For the first 6 months, the rate is 15%. After that, it will be lower. Because the Gov didn't want foreigner to come here play play then leave.

I am looking for jobs in commodity trading or logistic related. Any ideas regarding the possibilities of getting employ in SG? Jobstreet did not have much outcome for me.
*
Logistics or Admin job is more or less of SGD 2k, that's what companies pay for.
For sales and marketing, they usually like to hire origin Sg citizen, due to the fluency of English communication and culture nuance. That's what I heard...
The local job market is lack of the supplies in software engineering, IT support, medical nurse, if you're specialize in the area, you can get higher pay, at least SGD 3k and above.

You can apply the jobs via jobstreet.com.sg, monster.com, sg.jobsdb.com/sg, https://www.contactsingapore.sg, jobscentral.com.sg, https://www.jobsbank.gov.sg

If the age of digital, resourcec is everywhere. You need to draft out a good resume, make a pitch, and try your luck. Do not misleading the HR staff for skills you don't have, otherwise, you wont be get another chance for another post (even it's fit for you) in the same company.
My advice is put more effort into your work, life long learning, never stop for self-improvement throughout your career.

Kinda in a dilemma here, my first job as freshie(masters accounting and finance) got offered for business development in SME company. Is this offer fair? I am alright with the jobs scope and arrangements so far. But is worried sick for the contract and would be pleased if tai kor here's can share their opinions in such arrangements.
*
Master's degree doesn't mean much for the business, unless you're in the education sector. Employer need someone who can work. I personally got a master as well, based on years of experience, this is my humble opinion.
Back to your question, do sign the contract just because you need a job, because you don't know how is thing like in the real environment, it hurts you when you breach the term.

Will it too high ?

It really depends on your skills, my friend who has two years on hands on experience in VB programming, he was earning SGD 3.5K (last time). We all know that IT industry pay based on skills and experience.
What language and what system are you doing?

How does it feel to live in a Malay family? Do they have a lot of strict regulations? I had a very bad experience previously when rent and staying with a family, such as no shower sounds during late night,...

The owner is a couple, his gf complaint to him the water sound wakes her up in the middle of the night. For a working person like me, go home late due to closing account every end of the month is unavoidable. Too many problems to live in a house with the presence if woman. Sorry with no offence.

Should I compare dollar to dollar?
*
Compare dollar to dollar is like compare orange to apple.
A friend of mine, he got SGD8k from a shipping company while he's earning RM12k. I got SGD2.8k while I'm earning RM4.2k. Did you see the ratio?
SG is going into deflation nowadays, the food is cheap, a meal only costs u about SGD3.00 in the hawker centre. But the working environment is stressful, especially for tech support, end users in Sg are more articulate and computer savvy. Good and bad, it depends on how important you perceive money.
By the way, do you mind to share with me what role are u doing? Software dev, tech support, or consult?

one could argue that both you and your friend were underpaid when you came over (or you took a job with lower responsibilities and therefore lower pay).
1.07sgd to 1.00myr.

One experience cannot be a prejudice at all situation, salary scale different at different level. In tech support, sometimes responsibility doesn't count, skill matters. At salary 2K, both places seems to offer the same. However, when one's salary exceed a certain level (I'm not boasting about how much I earn), companies in that country tend to adjust it. That's business.

Currently team lead on technical design and implementation. I do pre-sales as well and provide consultation on tools that i specialized in.

Software house tends to be more appreciating their staffs. The only difficulty is handle end user, stress management is quite important for consultant. Perhaps u can do some survey into the company environment, whether it's very politic or management problem, that's important to u. all the best
