If I'm taking mrt from Mountbatten to Serangoon during morning rush hour and I need to reach at 8.30am, what time I should be going out?

It's safe to take 5 minutes/station into your calculation for total durations.

Really? I've used "Nice" bus twice but from KL to SG. Definitely not the best experience. I'll only use Nice bus if the fare is around RM 55. Not worth more than that.

IMHO Aeroline is the best. Punctual and pretty good in terms of service and onboard entertainment. But a bit expensive. Aircond is always adequate and can charge your devices.

Had a horrible experience with Pacific Ekspress from KL to SG, hot and unfortunately was filled with Bangla smell!

I've used Nice once but the fare was like almost 100? Got 1 driver 1 "steward" serve you sandwich and two packaged drink. Can ask for headset and blanket from them. Got android infotainment center running android. Got games and movies to watch @.@

is it the same Nice?

CCK is pretty alright, have fly-by occasionally too but not really that frequent. I think MRT pretty pack during the rush hour, then again which station is not.

Thanks for sharing your experience Mackiddo, appreciate it! Am relieved to hear the area is fine:)

very sure that even in the morning have fighter plane. i even measured the dB in the place i almost rented:
13th floor (3mins walk from boon lay MRT) ~85dB...(to give a a visualisation, normal background is ~40dB, near air asia jet engine is 66 dB...and fighter plane flying past is 85dB)...on ground floor noise is around 60dB plus...frequency i stood there 30 mins, 9-9:30am...every 4-5 mins will hear once...when i viewed the unit first time, in the afternoon of previous day 40 mins, ~ 2 times...so now i have to go SG again to find houses in bukit batok & phua chu kang oops i meant chao chu kang. Was wondering if anyone stayed before in BB & CCK? Mind sharing experience i.e is it safe and any problems? thanks for sharing your view SG2016, appreciate it!:)

I am not sure about their air force military airport/field location, just wanted to add that they started practicing their National Day now. So many places also can hear the Jet Fighter sound - e.g. CityHall, Eunos, Paya Lebar (I been these places few days ago and can hear it quite frequent.

Nah I'm not correcting. Just saying biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

It applies from Clementi up to Tiong Bahru. Tiong Bahru to Outram also a little bit further than other station. Not sure why @.@ probably got a lot of utilities to divert from. hmm.gif

Hi Seniors, want to ask for opinion, is boon lay/bukit batok/chao chu kang a safe area to live in? I went to look for accommodation in Boon Lay/Lakeside/Chinese garden but seems like boon lay has fighter plane noise problem (during day time), while i read bukit batok has rat infestation. Lakeside seems nice but prices are very steep and not many allows cooking:'( should i look elsewhere to rent a room? If yes, which area would you recommend? Greatly appreciate any advice!

PS: will be working in Joo Koon, don't mind 30 mins of travel time to work.

Nope not just daytime, it lasts until 8pm++. Sometimes feel like smacking bangwall.gif
But aren't you should pay notice on noice after 6pm? Or you work shift?

Edit - I'm on level 2, can't imagine those in >level 10

i almost signed a 1 year contract for a room in 13th floor...i measured 66dB (similar to descending from air asia jet engine) on ground floor, and 85dB on the 13th floor when the fighter plane fly past...luckily i went and investigate in the morning and found out...else i'll be pulling my hair everyday ><"...no im working normal 9-5...

I know someone!!!

But it's almost a year later only I know that he's travelling every weekend back to KL to be with his wife and kids.

The best thing is... Around 9.30pm every Friday he can already be in KL. I wonder how he travels. Not someone I close to so never really asked.
*
I know someone similar to him as well...travel back KL weekly without fail..but he staying near to airport + his pay can sustain the cost of travelling. smile.gif
