All I can say is you are lucky the bangla hasn't replaced you yet. No offense to them.. they are just making an honest living.

But if they were capable enough to do your job, for a quarter of your salary.. well, capitalism and free market economy takes over.
*
Then you gotta upgrade yourself and equip with extra skills where not any bangla can do. That's the rule of survival.

drool.gif If let's say my rental room comes with Internet already can I still install my own broadband? I'm not used in sharing connection with others, or I will need to start learning to share...
*
My landlord include broadband in my room rental(Singtel). Having said so, I'm using my own broadband line(Starhub).

So far paying $39.90 monthly, for 100mb/s, already due for recontract but let it be cause getting a fiber will increase the price to $49.90 and pretty troublesome if I were to relocate in future.

better check with starhub if they will maintain that pricing for u after contract expiry.
mine is expiring in jan...and it will not be the same price i am paying now (sgd28)
it will be at sgd50
I actually renewed the contract several months ago, but the customer service forgot to tag me as renewed. Hence I'm still eligible to recontract.

Price I'm paying? Remain as before. laugh.gif

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Dec 22 2015, 02:04 PM)
u dun even need to call.
just carry ur modem to the new place, plug it in and u are good to go.
really? Will try it next time. I remember need to give em a call so that they could change something on their side.

woops, touch wood. don't wanna kena relocate so fast. lul

when u say eligible for re-contract, u meant from the website/app right?
somehow for cable broadband....it always show Yes for eligibility...dun ask me why
i saw eligible, went to counter, they say not eligible.

by right u are suppose to update the service address (billing address is where to mail ur bill only)
i found out by accident when i wanted to recontract and the service address was the old address which i have moved out from more than a year.
moved a 2nd time, informed them after i moved.
*
Yeap, I was referring to the Starhub mobile app. It shows that I'm eligible to recontract.

I suspect they probably forgot to update or bug like what you had mentioned. However when I happen to drop by their service center to recontract my phone line, they told me I'm also eligible to recontract my broadband line and they can do it on the spot if I want to. I just act blur and only renew my phone line. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(7up @ Dec 22 2015, 04:14 PM)
what is the cheapest method to call back Malaysia? IDD? Calling card>?
*
Starhub postpaid has the option where you pay additional $7 monthly on top of your monthly fee and you can utilize your default talk time credit to call Malaysia.

e.g. My current Starhub package comes with 350 minutes local talk time.

Pay addtional $7, and that 350 minutes can be also used to call back Malaysia.

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Dec 24 2015, 10:43 AM)
For some its no difference. Read it here.

http://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits

EP can bring family members here, seen to be easier for PR application, work permit cannot marry local, cannot get pregnant, what else... o some will see it as a status, comparing themselves high high up looking down at S pass and work permit holder.
*
Sign phone line also got difference.

e.g. Starhub

E-Pass = No deposit
S-Pass = $200 deposit
Work Permit = $200 to $800 deposit depending on what phone. iPong = $800 deposit.

Question,

let's say with my current qualification i can't land jobs from big MNC and i have
to start working small company first.

will it be a problem on getting the working passes if after a few months i decided to hop?
*
No worries on that, my sis came landed a job here, then got a better offer in less than a month and hopped.

New company will apply work pass for you once they are taking you in.
