Yes, SSD can read files faster at the average speed more than 300mb/s while most of the HDD can only read files at the average speed around 100mb/s

Just changed to 120gb ssd. Significant improvement. Now my w7 boots up within 15 secs. Btw, im looking for an enclosure for my old hdd, any cheap recommendations? Or any enclosure would do?

can we buy something to cover the internal hdd ?  hmm.gif

Yes, enclosure is not expensive. Last time I bought ClipTec 2.5” USB 2.0 SATA Harddisk SSD HDD Enclosure for the price less than RM30. Quite reliable. biggrin.gif

The biggest difference is actually not sequential read/write. It's random read/write performance that matters the most for normal usage. The difference is 50-100x compared to HDD.
Depending on your usage. If you just need to copy movies which are sequential in nature, it's not worth it. A normal HDD is fast enough.
