I don't dare to recommend a heatsink for you as a slight bigger, then it won't fit in you're motherboard... sweat.gif

Afraid later you will blame me for it... sweat.gif

hmmm.... BUT overclock paradise selling at RM245. so expensive sad.gif btw dont know can fit my future processor or not. (Core 2 Duo or Kentfield)
*
Offcourse can fit in C2D or Kentsfield, as those processors still uses LGA775 platform... thumbup.gif

You just have to buy an Optional LGA775 Retention Module, then you're done... wink.gif

It's not like it's hard to get Ultra 90, it's becuase people tend more to get that Ultra 120 more than the Ultra 90...

sure... i just sent them an email about that.

guys, please give me some feedback. HR 01 or Ultra 90. cant find any review that compare both of it.
*
I think HR-01 should work a little bit better than the Ultra 90, it have more heatpipes...

Not quite sure about that, it's just my assumptions by the way... blush.gif

DAMM... Doom just pointed out one very important fact. HR 01 and Ultra 90 will place horizontal and not vertical like those socket 775. this means that it going to hit my DPS card. sigh....
*
Now that you've mention it, i've nearly forgot that u're using socket 478

Hmm, what are the other choices do you have in mind TS? blink.gif

WC? brows.gif

What model?
Gigabyte oso kaa? laugh.gif

Those Gigabyte watercooling setup are quite nice, but if you have the money to go for gigabyte watercooling setup, might as well buy metalzone's budget watercooling setup, it's better than the gigabyte WC set, and i think it's cheaper by RM50 - RM100

Gigabyte Watercooling Set is RM550 right?
Correct me if i'm wrong... notworthy.gif

yep, around RM550 thumbup.gif
if u going for WC, why don't u go for a new mobo + Thermalright HR-01/Ultra-90 sweat.gif
same cost if u go for Giga WC la (RM500)... Thermalright = RM200 (RM300 left for mobo) icon_idea.gif
*
The problem is, it's hard to find a decent socket 478 motherboard...

TS is using one of the most unique and high end motherboard for socket 478...
It's unique, b'coz of it's 6 slot for DDR rams...

The only motherboard that can beat that motherboard performance would be either ASUS P4C800 E Deluxe or an ABIT IC7 MAX3...

But those two motherboard are really rare nowadays... sweat.gif

in other words, WC is the final solution unless irangan found a cooler that fits tongue.gif
all i can think of is the xp-90... any other heatsink (highend onli please)??? thumbup.gif
*
I don't think you can fit an XP90 on that motherboard with that DPS module there, it will either got some interference with the heatpipes or the fins itself no matter which way you fix the heatsink on that motheboard...

TS, can u calculate the height of the DPS module?
Wanna check the clearance section below the lowest fin of the Ultra 120...

I won't dare to say that Ultra 120 will surely fit there, but, there's a possibility that u can use Ultra 120 on that motheboard...

Now what u have to do is to measure the height of the DPS module...

ASUS P4C800 E Deluxe or an ABIT IC7 MAX3 << my friend is using that.. want to buy ? hehe... last time, my friends and me bought this few mobo to test which one is better. in the end, we found that Asus is the best in performance but the rest not much different smile.gif

below is the dimension that i got using my ruler.. hehe..

my casing isnt those big casing.. the maximum height of a HSF it can support only around 15cm or 150mm.. 3D Rocket II, Ultra 120 and HR01 too tall for my casing sad.gif

XP 90 looks like can fit but still worry.. it will block by my DPS card.
*
So that does prove that P4C800 E Deluxe is better if compared to IC7 MAX3

I'm proud that i'm one of the previous user of that motherboard... rclxm9.gif

Err...
Darn it...

Ultra 120 is 165MM in height aka 16.5CM...
Can't fit in you're casing... sweat.gif

Now, what's the other choice do we have?
Big Thyphoon?

Hmm, i'm not quite sure about it, afraid if the heatpipe is going to be blocked by the card... sweat.gif

Okay, i've found a good heatsink that maybe doesn't have any interference with you're motherboard...

It's CM Hyper 48

Have u did some google on it?

less than 1 cm... but now i can take the card out after recieved a confirmation from gigabyte.. so no more blockage.. haha...
Asus and IC7 ar... both of my friends still argue about that till today. very inconclusive. IMO, Asus is better and my mobo is worst in performance if compare to both of that board. haha..

CM Hypre 48, i did some googling before this and found it cannot fit my mobo due to DPS. my casing only can support MAX 15CM, that is also left less than 1 cm from my side panel.

if you refer my previous, i posted a email from gigabyte. i think my problem is solve. i can take the DPS out without any worry smile.gif hhaha

so now i am open to more option. hahaha...
*
Actually, what does that DPS thingie used for? blink.gif
Won't something worse happen if u plug it out? sweat.gif

i am not quite sure about that... gigabyte fella said it is for more stability in voltage, something like built in AVR gua. i just plugged it out and nothing happen. Prime95 for 15 mins. no pro wink.gif
ok... but i dont think so because it is too tall for my comp
any suggestion for GOOD heatsink but below in 150mm in height? thx guys
*
Well, if nothing happen, i think it's okay la if u take out that DPS thingie... rclxms.gif

Heatsink height that is below 150MM?

Well, scythe ninja is exactly 150MM @ 15CM
Here's what i got from scyhte website:

Coolermaster Hyper 6+ height: 143MM @ 14.3CM

Thermaltake Big Thyphoon: 103MM @ 10.3CM

thx for all the info...

scythe ninja = cannot because after plus the height of the 120mm fan, it became 160mm in height..

Coolermaster Hyper 6+ = i read some review saying that the performance is very so so...

Thermaltake Big Thyphoon: = i think you told me that it have some clearance problem and IT IS VERY HARD TO INSTALL. need to take off the whole mobo. sounds too high tech for me.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 4 = i love that design. looking for review and where to purchase now.. EDITED: cannot fit 478 sad.gif

thx again...
*
Aiyoh, the Freezer 4 is built for Pentium 4 socket 478 liao... doh.gif

Freezer 7 is for LGA775

you've misunderstand it... whistling.gif

I don't really agree with those zalman cpu coolers...
They don't really are in the top notch...

But if you're into silence pc, then you're good with it...

Don't you have any other choices my friend? blink.gif

i googling like mad now for other option.. my comp is too small for those highend heat sink. Infinity/Ninja/Ultra Series/HR Series at least 160mm with fan, 3D Rocket II even worse 175mm with fan, Big Typhoon heat pipe hit my northbridge cooler, Artic Freeze 4 only support 478 and not 775. now only left either xp 90, XP 90C, Coolermaster hyper 6 or those zalman.

sHawTY, tell me frankly how good is the CoolerMaster Hyper 6? review rate them poorly, need advise from sifu like you smile.gif

probably due to my requirement, my option quite limited. i need to find something good, fit 478 / 775 and not too tall. seriously brain dead now.
*
No, don't go for CM hyper 6+ heatsinks, they don't perform well, used it before, and it lose a lot compared to my XP120 now... shakehead.gif

Furthermore, if u're running it on full speed, it's damn freaking noisy at 46DBa rclxub.gif

Hmm...
What other choices do we have...

If only we can get our hands on Noctua products... sweat.gif

The Noctua NH-U 12 is one of the best heatsink...
Noctua NH-U 9 is also good...
But sadly, it won't enter malaysian market, nor someone will do bulk on their heatsinks... sweat.gif

The NH-U 12 is a 155MM tall, which doesn't fit in you're casing...
While the NH-U 9 is 128MM tall, which fits perfectly on you're casing...

Damn, can't someone do bulk on Noctua heatsinks? sweat.gif

Hey, i don't know if this heatsink fits in you're motherboard or not, but, it's worth for some research...

Hey, why don't you go for G-Power Pro?
It's performance are far more greater than the Hyper 6+!!! thumbup.gif

It's on the par with my XP120 icon_rolleyes.gif

Used it before, but sold off because i don't really like the design... sweat.gif

just research online. Noctua NH-U9 dont support 478 only Noctua NH-U12 do. sigh.. btw, if u want to purchase Noctua items, you order from one australia site.
http://www.nintek.com.au
they do send to Malaysia.

G-Power Pro ar... are you refering to THIS?

inside niclasteoh bulk, he list it under GIGABYTE G-Power BL. BULK

how about this GIGABYTE 3D Rocket Cooler-Pro ?
*
Yes, that's the one... thumbup.gif
In the older days gigabyte name it as G-Power Pro, don't know why they change it to G-Power BL rclxub.gif

Forget that, what's the most important thing is, it fits on you're motherboard, and with some luck, you can use the DPS back on you're motherboard... brows.gif

Who knows? smile.gif

3D Rocket Cooler Pro?
I don't know about that heatsink, didn't see much good review about it... sweat.gif
