Wonder why there is no more one plus two thread discussion.

Recently just bought One Plus Two. My OPT will gets very hot when i playing Clash of clan just for 5 minutes. normal usage of phone without playing games, the temperature is very normal. but once i open up COC for around 5 minutes it will get very hot.

For your info, i had rooted my phone and throttle the cpu processor speed to 1.2. (saw some comment in the web saying this will solve the over heating issue).

No play games, the phone is very great but once play games for only 5 min the phone gets hot at the back around the camera area. tested cpu temperature, temperature easily more than 50c after 5 mins of gaming.

Anyone had solutions for this and let's discuss about this.

did it overheat before you underclock the cpu?

SD810 devices all crap. Wait for SD820. If want to buy, wait for second hand market. Usually dirt cheap.

There's no OnePlus 2 thread anymore because no one is willing to continue to creating a thread for it.

Regarding your issue, I have had this device for a while before it met its demise. It got stolen. My OnePlus 2 has never heated up or "overheat" in your case. Granted I dont know what you did to it. But as I am reading, you rooted it and underclocked it.

When did you start experiencing this issues? What kernel are you using? And which version? be best if you post whatever you're experiencing on the thread of the kernel you are using.

My solution for you, is to go back to stock and see if your "overheating" issues is solved.

The OnePlus One is using the v2.1. Which eliminates the overheating issue completely. The Nexus 6P doesnt overheat, the Sony Xperia Z5 series doesn't overheat either. So either you have a lemon set, or you screwed something up.

are you on wifi or lte/3g connection? if you're on data connection and the signal strength is low, thats a contributing factor as well.

this looks like a good read for you - https://www.orduh.com/oneplus-2-battery-drain-overheating/

i am using the v2.1.1 that updates thru OTA. i am not using any custom kernel as i only rooted the phone. but that's a good idea to try to go back to stock rom from scratch and try it out. hopefully it will help. thanks

5 mins on gaming n overheat is indeed serious problem!

Hi bro. Just want to share my experience using OPT. I bought this hp to play game mostly. Average is 4hours in gaming per day. Im using Oxygen 2.1.1. Not root yet.

What i can say so far is no overheat issue for me. Just normal heat when play the game like any other phone out there. The heat also not makes me feel uncomfortable. Even play games during charging it does not overheat. Just feel bit warm but still normal.

i think different games to responded differently.
for my case need for speed no limits is quite graphically intensive, but doesn't heat up my phone as much as dead effect 2

I'm using the OPT too. Not overheating issue so far.

When gaming abit warm but not to the uncomfortable level yet.

Flash stock rom and check the temperature again. If can't solve then go to Endah Parade Oneplus service centre ask them check for you. Might cover under warranty

After reading through a few forums, these OPT is either a hit or miss, in terms of quality from different batches. Latest batches seem to have less problems, but still some problems for some people even after few times exchange for new units. I guess OP+ got a bit big headed with this OPT.

HAHA the S6 I presume? or something using the Exynos 7420. That heats up more and faster than the 810. I could cook an egg on my previous S6 edge LOL

Most important question on your OP2.

Is your OP2 China version or official international version?

Latest update, i had do a factory reset and still the heat is coming when play COC. finally i decided to send back to maxis centre and they will send to service centre to check. but i forgot to unroot and lock back the bootloader. hope it wont affect the warranty as their website clearly stated root will not void warranty. Sad news is it will take at least 2 weeks time according to maxis guy. what to do, just pray.

Finally i hope someone can hold back another official tread for One Plus Two so that we can further discuss on this phone.

another question for OPT owners.

when your phone is in sleep (idle)

does the capacitive buttons stay lit? or it turns off as well?

the blue lights (back/recent) keys.

someone mention that the problem due to the motherboard version 3.3.. but version 2 doesn't have this problem, the oem_nv_backup bt_mac_missing.. one thing that cross my mind is v3.3 maybe the upgraded motherboard that fixed grounding issue which introduces the unresponsive home button..

I just contacted OnePLus online chat, and said this is SW incompatibility issue and they might take some time to come out with a solution. THey would therefore recommend fixing the motherboard as a immediate workaround

Based on my 3 weeks usage I find nothing exceptionally great about this phone. It's tag line is biggest joke of the year
It's camera, display, battery life, audio n video is average
Only strength is quick app loading n good multitasking
ColorOS is disappointing n I had replaced it with the much better hydrogenOS followed by several custom rooms

I called the SC at Indah Parade. They said need to wait for the motherboard and might take weeks. I asked what if I dont change the motherboard and she said might result in lost of data (which I am quite doubtful). Anyone has any issue so far?

Google engineer says you shouldn’t buy OnePlus USB Type-C cables
http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/16/9742360...c-cable-adapter

Leung adds that this won't have an affect on the OnePlus 2 itself as the handset doesn't support Type-C fast charging, and that the warning is more for owners of the Type-C compliant Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Chromebook Pixel. "However, it's still not cool to keep that cable around because the next phone or tablet or laptop computer you buy might support 3A fast charging, and if you forget that cable is bad, you may damage a charger sometime in the future," says Leung. "If you want to keep the cable, mark it with a tag so you don't forget it's special." But not special in a good way.

Yup, it is available on Maxis. Heard there are a lot of issues with 2.1.2? Even the missing NV bug is still not resolved.

If it was common the Nexus 6P would be so hot that people wouldn't get it. The phone only gets warm when you use it. So it's relatively fine. No serious issues.

Its not the hardware that sucks. It's OxygenOS. OnePlus One sold so well because of CyanogenMod. And look what's happened when their joint-venture fell apart. It simply wasnt up to par with the rest of the flagships. Go online and read about the crappiness of OxygenOS and you'd find out what I mean. Apps take 10 billion years to launch on OxygenOS launcher, camera lag is real. and battery life wasn't all that good either. I only had this phone for a few days before it was stolen from me lol.

I guess is not so much a hate affair but those users none are interested to continue the official thread
Seriously I had used so many type of Androids n the OPT ranks very down below. I would say OPO is a much better buy

I think most people dislike OPT simply because of their motto "Flagship killer 2016". Most of us (including OPO users, who I am one of them too) got excited with the new successor. But at the end, we were all frustrated, some were even feel cheated, because Oneplus has over exaggerated their capability by using that unreal motto. In short, we found out OPT's performance does not match their "Flagship killer" title.

So we actually do not hate OPT. In fact, it's more like a disappointment. Hence no one is willing to open a thread for a disappointment.

Come to think of it, things might get better if they didn't use that motto in the first place. But it's too late now. Now it's only March and this so called "Flagship Killer 2016" OPT has already been defeated by many other, not only flagships phones, but also middle class phones out there.

Now we will see if they dare to use the flagship motto again for Oneplus Three in the near future. They better don't repeat the same mistake. If not, it will definitely get the same fate like OPT.

Yeah cyanogen on OPO was a beast. Everything was nice because of how much users can take control of the phone. With oxygen os, bugs were everywhere. And that made a dent on one plus community.

Yeap have to agree with you too haha, have to improve their oxygen OS overtime as well. As time goes by, bugs will be less and more fully baked features will be implemented. flex.gif
