QUOTE(gabuchia @ Apr 23 2017, 01:10 PM) That is the reason I am in operations. Projects come and go, Minesite operations usually have 3 - 5 yrs extensions. We exclusively only go for Private Companies' projects, and no government projects. Security and & for operations. May seem boring to some - But I enjoy it immensely. Operations as in construction site process, or operating the built facilities? Im currently in operations / main con, thinking to switch to consulting as I don't really like my current role. QUOTE(Win Win Inspiration @ Jun 5 2017, 11:42 AM) Care to elaborate more? The people in the industry are making big bucks. yeah, construction of public infrastructure is rapidly picking up pace, especially with China investing heavily thanks to their "One Belt, One Road" policy. Maybe just the house developers are struggling? This post has been edited by strategist: Jun 6 2017, 08:17 AM

pretty sure most management trainee programs (ie. graduate programs , for fresh graduates) all pays around or above ~3.5k .
granted, these are top companies aiming for creme of the crop graduates, usually those from overseas universities. But these companies do exist. Eg: CIMB, Gamuda, Shell, Sime Darby, Accenture, Intel etc. Pretty sure advisory positions in Big 4 starts from 3.4k also.
Few of my high flyer friends, dean list of a top 10 university in the world, gets 6k starting salary. some in O&G, some in private equity.
