Not quite sure about your field but if compared with IT guys I think you are doing good. Slightly above the average but can be higher.

7-10k at age 27 is possible. In IT industry some foreign companies that setup branch in Malaysia can offer up to 10-12k for 3 to 4 years experince person. Especially if you are pioneer. It’s rare but not impossible. You have to join before they hire a local HR.

When interviewing, skill and experience aren’t the main priority. Make friend with them in the interview. Talk big and make yourself stand out. Invite them to the pub. Talk about dream, vision and girls. Basically talk cock.

Be aggressive. Plan for it. Script it and keep practising. Rehearsal all the possible scenarios. I am not a natural born talker so I usually spent few hours and days to prepare my interview. In the pub or dinner, when the moment is right, tell them u plan all this and tell them your motive. Be frank. Do it smart and sincere. Earn their trust. Usually you will get what you want. If failed then try next job.

That’s my experience. Sit diam diam wait for increment not gonna go far.

Ya. Their KPI is to hire as many good candidate with as lower possible cost. They know the local market rate too well. 12k 3 yrs experience, the resume might not even pass through their filter.

Just keep practising.
