Asking this on behalf of my husband as I wish he get another job...

Highest paper qualification/ education background : Oversea Degree in Supply Chain Management

I felt he is underpaid for his long working hour, and I dislike his company culture..

Is it normal for people working in Sales Line to have this kind of working culture? And is it hard to get a better job nowadays with he qualification & experience?
*
Too low salary and bad culture..Look for other jobs NOW

Planning to take MBA before embarking on other industry/challenges, just not sure when. But for a company based in Malacca, how's the salary?
*
Salary is low compared to actual title, HOD- but you're just 30 probably... So for Malacca, it's ok..

Good company to work for, terrible industry to be in for the next many years to come. For those job hunting out there, lots of jobs with fantastic work life balance available as well. I'm in the office 8ish in the morning, out by 5pm. Maybe one evening call a week, can't help it with a multinational. This is not the first company I've worked at with decent pay and good work life balance so don't give up.
*
Nice salary+ Permanent... Work life balance is key at this age of your life, focus on family and maintain at same firm for continuity... Why say IT is a terrible industry for the next few years??Imagine Oil and Gas.. ranting.gif ranting.gif

Job Desciption : After sales service
Years spent in company : 2 months
Company : Japanese MNC
Industry : Light Machinery (Plastic Injection Moulding Machine)
Age: 24
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Australian University based in Malaysia)

Need some advice, my purpose for joining this company is that is allows me to have some hands on troubleshooting experience (which my university doesnt provide), but I'm wondering if long term servicing is an OK route? Or should I go for handling projects? (salary wise)

My plans now is that I'm taking Japanese Language course and planning to get a Masters after leaving this company(maybe after 1 year or 1.5 years), or just get a part time masters while working.

Always remember your job title is asst engr and not an engr... Go for handling projects.. Overall your industry pay is not the best/top industries.

I have been working for 20 years now and still stucked in the same position as an exec. No chance to be a manager since there is lot of manager around me and my AGM, GM sucks as hell.

My salary stucked for 3 years already, (gaji mati) and my company only gave me & my 3 friends a compensation around RM4K for last year. The 1st time the gave us who got (gaji mati).

I tried to apply for the manager post & my GM told me, he will put me under job rotation. But until now, no news and i think my GM forgot already.

So sad. 20 years working and some of my junior got AGM post d and some of them GM.

Pity.

Looking forward to work in NZ in the near future. No luck for me here.

Why are you still working there???

Most of the work today is still on premise eg. high transactional/large datasets but many have moved to cloud native eg. ERP or email. The former will likely go to hybrid eventually.
I'm in oil and gas/energy. Think exploration, subsurface, drilling. Not business IT...

As you can see, the pay over here is a very VERY crappy one and I can't seem to 'grow' here.

Should i just try too start over in west malaysia or maybe in singapore ?
*
Very sad to see Sabah salaries.. Sarawak too... The private sector wages there need some form of "minimum wage".. Maybe RM1.3-1.5k is suitable

The gov, I believe has imposed a minimum wage of 800 here and comes july, it will be 920 if I'm not mistaken. I have had several friends/relatives working in some well established private company for more than 15 years and their salary is still under the 4k mark, got a few in manager position somemore.. Most of us here still uphold the mentality of working in the gov sector to land a decent pay.
*
Yes-that mentality would not increase the wealth as salary in govt is low too..Maybe own business is best.

the company i work for, the pay is not much, but the benefits for my situation is good
1. the avg increment is 50-150 per year for staff.i work well (200-300) around now. so my increment is considered high (maybe for diploma level)
2. my degree studies are payed fully by my company (30k)
3. study and exam leave
4. r&d company, alot of high tech stuff i could toy around with. kinda cool
5. 8 hours working per day and that's it, i get home on time. ( i think this is not common thing in private companies, and i don't know why)
all in all, i really like working here. My concerns as of now is
1. the pay kinda sucks so i've been told
2. i have reached a point where I feel that I don't grow much, compared to when I first joined the company
*
Bad work life balance in Malaysia- horrible hours..

suggest you to get another offer n see if they counter.

I can say it is a good salary & package i am getting now, but nowadays it is arguably tense just to think about what will happen in the o&g industry. everybody is in hot seat now. can get laid off at any time.

Thinking of doing a business as a part time (to test the market and capability) and will move to full swing if it looks promising.

Anyone attached with HSBC? My friend received offer as band 5. Any idea on band 5? Is it good to progress further at HSBC?
*
band 5 is a manager level role. which department? some departments are shitty, most are decent.

QUOTE(nooby999 @ Sep 16 2017, 07:01 AM)
if not mistaken is assistance vice president (avp) position....I heard that got 1.3 k allowance every month and 30 days leaves ...is it true?
*
AVP/VP is the external titles, a b5 would hold a VP card but is just a manager. theres senior manager, director n then the c lvls above u.

QUOTE(party @ Sep 17 2017, 06:22 AM)
HSBC or HDPM?

There is band 0 - 8. Lowest is 8. Band 5 min salary is 11k. Benefits differ greatly depends on you r on as HSBC or HDPM
Depends you are HSBC or HDPM. If in HSBC a band 5 can be called analyst, assistant manager etc not necessarily AVP.
*
band 5 min 11k is utter crap. know many b5's making 6k nia, some make 12k or more. its always a wide range.
