Got a friend from my uni, hes a bachelor in supply chain, havent even graduated and Texas Instrument offers him 3.6k to work there right after graduation and he has no experience other than that 2 months intern at DHL. He has a 3.7cgpa btw

What do you think? Is it bullshit or what lol

And he said his friend in the same course (either supply chain or logistics) Shell offered his friend 4.5k, fresh grad.

the hell, I asked a few forummers here last time (logistics industry as well), their fresh grad salary was 1.8k-2.2k only. Those salaries from my friend are like two folds man
*
emm, its possible when your friend is already has 1st class degree. MNC especially like TI and Shell can pay more than average salary for fresh grads (they probably excel during interview sessions).

Am I underpaid? I plan to move within this year as I really feel that my boss not going to promote me after I work with them so many years..
I stay in this comfort zone too long until I found many new joiner positions are higher than me (means salary also higher than me)..
Feel de-motivated after compare with others.. So stupid i am with this position and salary after i compare with my friends as well... mega_shok.gif

Depends on you actually. If you think your performance work during your tenure there haven't been noticed by your line manager, then better to find other opportunity elsewhere.

But just remind that you will have to forgone your benefits and comfort zone here. Not all is greener at the other side.

I think you can talk to your line manager first and see what is the best possible way for your career path before you made the move to resign.

Never knew any company willing to pay more than 3.5k for a fresh graduate.

Only know Petronas and other O&G that pay 4k for their fresh graduate engineer. but their glory days are gone
*
Ermm what I know Schlumberger can give more than RM6k(not include the allowance) salary to fresh grad engineers nowadays (but they have alot of interview stages before being accepted).

Our currency is weak. So compare to rm3.5k (if European/UK/US company) is like few hundreds bucks per month to invest to this fresh grad only.

Cool you got CCIE. Of course by getting this cert, you can demand to get 5 digit salary.

BTW what do you mean to get CCIE x 2 actually?

Where do you went for the exam?

The commission 10% of profit earned by company or department?

In terms of your basic salary, with your experiences that you have, it's pretty low. But you're still young (26) and if you have plan to take degree or get IT certs in near future, your salary might change to your level experience.

10% profit earned an individual salesman though.

Pretty steep , correct me if I'm wrong.

So you're implying the one should definitely pursue their studies in order to maximize their salary?

Hmm  confused.gif
*
That's one of the ways to upgrade yourself and get competitive salary packages.

But I did put that you can try to get IT certs so that can get better chance for higher salary.

im planning getting a PMP certified as it would be usefull in my department. but i keep getting the feeling of low paid in this company. should i get out of this comfort zone and risk getting work outside. the best thing about GLC is the benefits.

can anyone advise?
*
I have friends who had left from TM to venture outside due to higher salary offer and position.
Yes of course the benefits are great in TM, but you need to know what are your career goal and advancement.
If you feel you need to challenge yourself and go out of your comfort zone, then try apply for higher post (and perhaps get the PMP cert. This will certainly get higher salary). But just remember, not all are greener on the other side.

QUOTE(cytyler @ Nov 13 2017, 01:09 PM)
Just a quick question to ask about OT pay :

I'm fresh grad. I just worked for this company since September. I did OT for around 50hours/month for Sept and Oct. I just realized my company did not pay me for OT few days ago because I didn't look into my salary slip.

Then I went to HR to ask about the OT pay problem. They told me that because I'm working in IT dept. and my work can be brought home to continue after working hours, therefore they don't pay me for OT.

Then I had some argument with HR because most of the time my manager asked me to stay for work (sometimes even until 12am-1am). Then they show me my working contract, under terms stated no OT pay for me, then they say they never wanted to talk to me about this problem ever again.

I admit it was my own mistake because I didn't read the terms carefully and signed it.

I need to ask that whether the labour law protects me that the employer must pay me for OT regarding the working contract I signed. sad.gif

Thx
*
I am sorry to say, as long as your contract mention under the terms that not OT pay for executive level and above (I presume you are in that level), even the labour law cannot do anything on this.

*
My opinion is vary to different person. If they have a lot of commitment during their early years also not enough money and underpaid.
But for me based on your age and experiences, I think you are above pay level.

Congrats to get that much salary around 20s.
