It's industry wide bro, not just in your company.
If you can't negotiate for a salary increase why not negotiate to be sent for a really good training course instead. That way you're still developing your skills and can still use it in future interviews.
*
Yeap, I guess this is why everyone is keeping silent although this is the second consecutive year which we don't get increment. Actually heard news that company is starting to reduce head-count and cutting some contract staff sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Still got sent for training last year, not sure about this year, requesting but boss say will have to depend on the budget since the main focus this year would be "cost" lol ....

Anyway, guess it's not a good time to jump anywhere now. Just pray my future job will look at overall income, not the basic salary. Else would be very tough unsure.gif unsure.gif

Job Desciption : Develop web application
Years spent in company : 9 months
Company : -
Industry : IT
Employment Level : Lowest
Experience before joining : 0
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree in Software Engineering(2nd upper)
Salary: Basic = 3K+ (gross)
Bonus: 1 month (contractual) + 0-2 months (performance bonus)

Recently just get a car(5 years+ C segment car) from the company that can be use as personal car. After the recent appraisal, I get around 10% increment and 1 month bonus for 2015. Am I getting good pay/benefit? I just feel the 10% of 2k+ increment is still kinda difficult to survive in KL. Or am I too greedy?  rclxub.gif

Are you married or having any commitment? That could affect. But as a single being work and live in KL, I guess shouldn't be a problem with the salary and the increment you have. Of course if you have a gf then you might need to prepare like 500 every month to spend on/with your gf. xD

Your salary and benefits pretty similar to one of the company I know. Not sure it is a standard practice for certain industry. Ur salary and benefits is a little bit higher than avg fresh grad. But since u are in software engineering, i believe u could earn more if u r really good. Easily can get 3.5k to 4k for fresh. Anyway whats most important is the exposure u get. If current company unable to provide u work exp and knowledge then maybe u should start to look into different company after 1 or 2 year work.

I'm 18, I never thought I would work in this industry, but then again, I'm stuck in here for a year already. Bcoz all my focus when I was studying was towards computer software/hardware, and some little programming. After 1 year, feels like I wanna switch job to a career already... Any suggestions?

RM2100 for 18 years old consider alright. Perhaps you can get training on programming so that you can earn higher on next job switch. I suggest you stay put and look for job, only resign WHEN you sign a new offer letter from another company.

Good luck in your future undertakings. wink.gif

Anyone doing audit in Big4 can share their salary? Fresh grad starting pay is how much? A lot of blogs and forums say RM2,800, is that accurate?

Hello there again sifus, I want to ask how to negotiate salary. Currently my tembak request is 4k, the company offer 3k (2.5k basic + 500 all). However, the OT rate is high, 2.2x the hourly rate. Its Construction industry. My question is, is there any room for me to nego abit more? Im not sure if i will seem rude if try to nego as a fresh grad..

You already got your answer. Fresh with 3K is good. Somemore you got OT, try to work for few years then jump to another company. If you demand now they will first ask you what can you contribute to the company since you are fresh.

Fresh grad with 3k starting pay seems pretty decent in my opinion.
Is it in design, operations, supervision or what area of construction?
Plus you get 2.2x for OT which usually is quite a lot if you work at site. Late night casting/concreting is common.
Do you need to work saturdays? or is it considered OT? You might wanna check on that.

Contractor site engineer no OT pay one, only big bonus later. Consultant engineer can claim OT for late night casting but depend also on contractor.
