New Straits Times reported a survey conducted by Grant Thornton International Business Report (IBR) showing that more businesses in Malaysia are expecting employee salaries to increase over the next 12 months, compared to last year.

“Eighty-six per cent of businesses are expecting to offer salary increments for their employees for the year ahead, as compared to 78 per cent in the third quarter of 2016 (3Q16),” said Country Managing Partner Datuk Narendra Kumar Jasani.

Malaysia also has the highest proportion of businesses in the Asean region expecting to offer employees a pay rise in next 12 months.

Jobstreet Malaysia shared a document showing the average salary an employee can be expected to pay according to their industry and role. There is band 0 - 8. Lowest is 8. Band 5 min salary is 11k. Benefits differ greatly depends on you r on as HSBC or HDPM
Depends you are HSBC or HDPM. If in HSBC a band 5 can be called analyst, assistant manager etc not necessarily AVP.

Hi, I'm a bit curious about the results of an interview I attended last week. At the of the interview, my interviewer talked about the position they would offer me and he also asked about my salary expectation. Does this mean that my chance of getting the job offer is high?

i saw one JS, offer 7k - 10k.

i went for interview, casual interbiu with MD in a golf course.

i mentioned 5k as current (bluff him) he said offer me 10% increment and say will see where we go.

nabeh, its 5.5k , not even reach the advertised 6k 

So 5 digit easier for team lead or above in Malaysia?
