mine is Farm Fresh. i like the taste of it's milk and taste quite similar to real cow's milk sold by indians near my place.i rather drink the pasteurized one.

Farm Fresh is 'objectively' the best one.

I use it for my cappucinos and lattes. Apparently many decent restaurants and non-shit coffee shops swears by it too.

Fucken expensive though. Also don't quite like that they use plastic bottles.

It's not really that expensive compares to those australians . It's about RM 7. But it's a fresh cow milk need to be chilled all the time.
The plastic bottle is no harm. It's a food grade plastic bottle , there's no leeching of chemical. plastic only leech if heated at certain temp.

1. Farm Fresh full cream. This one takes the top spot. No. 1. It has the most pure taste of milk without any "ajinomoto" added into the milk to enhance the flavour. I believe it is currently the best dairy milk that is available in Malaysia due to the pureness of the milk. (I still prefer the taste of fresh milk that is sold in the United Kingdom).

2. Dutch Lady Fresh milk. This is the 2nd best. The FRESH MILK. There are 2 versions, the Fresh and the Full Cream. The Fresh tastes more pure than the Full Cream. However, the Dutch Lady Fresh milk still loses out to the Farm Fresh.

3. Marigold

4. Dutch Lady Full cream milk. Not as pure as the above but still, not too bad.

All the other brands especially HL low fat etc. all has something added into the milk to make the flavour more unique. Some has some vanilla taste as if there is vanilla essence added into the milk. Yuk. The natural taste of the milk is gone. Some milk tastes a bit like water.

Yes you were right. And the worst is that the consumers here accepted even farm fresh as better one. The milk that i had in overseas not only taste good but smells exactly milk n touches your senses. Farm fresh is good but you still could tell the water content is high too.

Was it that much different?

I was in Dutch land some moons ago and while the milk and cheese was excellent, it wasn't really that far off.

yes, its very far off. even dutch have poor fed cows and milks. Just like NZ. you need to know what you are seeking first. Is Belgium chocolate all the finest? not really. There's are more than finger count when comes to Belgium chocolate production. The best milk i tasted is not from europe but Japan.

HL milk all the time for me. Since I have been drinking this since primary school days and Im almost 30 now. Hard to switch to other brands' taste.

HL milk have been fortified and sweeteners. Not really fresh milk or pure milk to me. Fresh milk might not be favourable to many consumers, hence added vanilla and sweeteners to entice new customers. I was HL milk fan previously . But why do i need a fortified milk when i can actually add honey, quality vanilla beans etc to a fresh milk which taste way much better than HL . so i switch to fresh milk now.

1st choice would be farmfresh.
2nd would be farmhouse.

Any other milk, sorry to say, but I'd rather not drink.

Was in holland and the milk is awesome there. Way more tasty and nutritous.

Back home here in kl,
1. i will buy the original cow milk from indian suppliers
2. Consume farm fresh.
3. Sometime dutch lady too. Our house milk consumption is high, 15liters per week

I have made comparison with indian susu lembu i bought in brickfields vs Farm Fresh, back to back testing

The result , Farm Fresh taste very similar to susu lembu. So i pick Farm Fresh because it's pasteurized and safe from bacteria. And guess what. Just drinking Farm Fresh milk or our local susu lembu is not as good as compared to overseas produced milk . The cow is not so good cow. I think the way it fed got something to do with it. Too much water in the milk too.

The secret to make it taste better is to add about 20-30 percent of CREAM into the milk ( make sure you boil it together or the cream fat is solids) or even 50-50% half half and that should solved the lack of aroma and it's richness .

Sorry to say, the author of this blog have no clue of pasteurization technology and the raw milk contaminations handlling in local farms especially . Pasteurization will not alter the taste of any fresh milk.

sorry, but what is fresh milk to you guys?

from my understanding, fresh milk comes directly from the cow into the bottle which is quite rare in malaysia, shef life normally less than 1 week?

recombined milk is like taking milk powder and mix with water,go through UHT and put in bottle/packaging, which not a lot of brands DARE to tell the truth about. normally around 6 to 9 months

fresh milk can still go through UHT and still be consider as fresh too if im not mistaken.
Pasterization technology , the latest does not have to alter it's texture or taste at all. Fresh milk into the plastic bag is common but we don't really knows what cow or is it buffalos milk in the farm. And there's no such regulation that controls the hygienic of the handler . I have seen they used some rusty drum to store fresh milk.

i think now everybody is being blinded by the wrong word used to describe the wrong milk

if milk that gone through
1- milk taken off from cow
2- milk dried to become milk powder by heating over 100 deg C to vapourize the water content
3- milk powder mixed again with water
4- goes through UHT at 140 deg C for 3-5 seconds and then rapid cooled to ambient temp
5- packed and sold

i am very sure there are a lot of other processes in between but, how is this fresh milk?

It is the exact opposite, all other brand taste like water and have some umami taste that I really feel disgusted by it. Like sucking cow's tit raw. HL the only one that taste sweet and thick, if you pour them all in glasses and shake them you can see HL is very thick not like other brand tasteless water.
