So kind of you Mr. Roy. I feel pai seah asking other agent for help bcoz they did not earn any commissions from my policy . My current agent has limited knowledge. His education background is not good. So I don't want to bother him. Usually I will call customer service or walk-in to the counter. So far so good.

Allow me to share my experience here about these 3 insurance companies - -  Prudential, Great Eastern, HLA.

My GE agent sudah lari. Policy auto switch to upline. But the new agent nowhere can be found. Had sent a complaint letter to GE head office and requesting for changing a new agent. Until now almost a month but no news yet despite numerous follow up with email and phone call. I feel regretted buying insurance from this company. I should have listened to my friends that this company is not so good. The reason I sign up GE policy is because back in year 2010. This is the only company in Malaysia offering smart early payout for critical illness. Now thinking to cancel this policy and switch to other insurers but feel sayang coz already served for a few years. Each year the premium is Rm4200. Last 2 days walk-in to customer service counter to enquire about premium reduction if cancel SM200. They cannot offer me an answer coz they don't have the software (how come HLA can do it but GE can't?). Instead, asking me to contact my servicing agent but she is MIA. I don't have an agent to contact for almost 6 months... really pek chek. However, there is some good things about this company. I personally like the e-connect where customer is able to check the detail of the policy via Internet login.

HLA - no issue with the claims. But lousy computer system. During the system migration, there was a system glitch and causing my credit card auto debit cannot get thru. Have to use manual work. After few months of complaint, they finally cancel my old policy and reissue me a new policy number. When I told them I have doubt on the cash value. They ask me to provide the yearly statements for checking as they can't trace from their end. Wah lau.....how many of you would keep the yearly account statements? This aren't the one for income tax submission.

Prudential - my first policy since 1997. Processing for claims and unit trust redemption are very fast. No issue at all. Great customer service. But the insurance charges rate is little higher as compared to competitors. How I wish I cud monitor my policy online like GE.

Its usually bought through a company under group insurance . . . where individual insurance is too expensive
if related to heavy machinery.

There are few types of coverage depending what your friend is looking for . . .
a. is it cover for foreign worker
b. is it cover for local
c. What type of coverage he is looking at . . . . life? PA? Medical & etc?

all local worker ....mainly is for the foreman

Question C , i would like to hear some suggestion from you guys notworthy.gif thx ....

There is good and bad about individual and group.

Since your friend is dealing with heavy machine industries, if your finance allows, it is suggest to get PA for all workers and 2nd is medical protection.

If by group, it means all workers shared a sum of amount, it is cheap because it's only cover till the retired age (either 50 or 60). it might either beneficial to the family or the company. It might be bad for workers who is retired/resigned /sacked because they can't have coverage once they leave the company due to group insurance.

If your friend is genuine to workers, it is wise to provide them individual plan as they can have full benefits of it and can be renewed once they sacked/resigned/retired up to age of 80.

It is advise company to get insurance protection for employees as it will reduce the cost and problems if anything happened to the employee. Risk control.  smile.gif

If you need more information or any inquiry, you can pm me.

Of course individual plan is more costly compare to the group. Believe me it's a big gap differences.

Any plans from any insurance company will do if it's fit in your requirement because all payout are according to the policy in hand.

Example.
If your friend's company is big enough, he may suggest to his employees:-
option 1. all employee to get individual plan.
option 2, if opt1 too costly, try have a meeting with employee to get individual but with certain percentage of subsidy from the company.
option 3. if opt1 & 2 costly, then may think of this, all executive level get individual plan only, and the rest get group.
option 4, if above all still costly, then don't think too much, just get group insurance.
option 5, if all above is out of budget, then pray hard nothing happen to your friend's employees.  tongue.gif

is not very big only a few technicians, but nature of work is dangerous i think option 2 is good enough since chinaman co always more stingy sweat.gif

In most developed country, medical coverage is a must as malaysia medical is going up crazily every year but still cheap compare to lots of developed countries. Buying insurance must first thing in mind that anything happen must try to rescue or safe, and nobody will think of dead and wanta claim it. I feel that really funny when parents bought life insurance for their kids, indirectly sounds like they wish their kids die and to hit the jackpot for themselves. I thought most parents if anything happens to their kids will surely bring their kid(s) to the best doctor or better medication. If so then should get medical coverage for them and vice versa. Just my concern. =)

They are some insurance do provide medical coverage+PA in the market. icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

er.. why label yr friend's GF as ignorant ar?
She may not have anyone who is economically dependent on her, thus she doesn't need death & disease insurance.
She's right if she meant to buy death insurance on herself to payout to her child's guardian(s) to care for her child - her child when she has one, is economically dependent on her.

Just a thought  notworthy.gif

hmmm......how to say ar....

i mean as we chat on , she did realize tat at certain level if a person become TPD or get serious illness , no matter she have children or not ,will surely impact on the family either the husband have to take care on her or the parents. What i wanna say is she know the importance and she know how insurance can help....but she just say she would not need it (wat , she think she is superman/superwoman ) laugh.gif laugh.gif
