Any idea why can't we make complaints bout irresponsible insurance agent? When they sell you the policy, they will be seen everywhere and anywhere. But when you terminate it, they are no where to be seen, not to mention not helping you to get those money you're supposed to get back!

I'm very pissed off, although this incident does not happen to me, but it happened to my fiance. He cancelled the investment scheme policy from XXX, the agent say they will proceed with reimbursement of the remaining money he's eligible to get back. After EIGHT MONTHS.. he still havent receive the cheque. Today, he called XXX main office, the person there told him that the cheque has been sent out to the Muar branch few months back, and is consider expired now (6 months duration of cheque). So, in order to claim back, he will have to write a letter to XXX main branch to ask them to reissue. GOSH.. WHERE IS THE ****ING AGENT? vmad.gif

I think already surrender, and the payment has been made by main branch. The main problem is no one is doing the following up work and it's my fault to have trusted the agent completely. sad.gif Do you think it'll work if i write a letter to the main branch, stating the agent in charge and hope that they will take action on her?

Thanks all for the help. My fiance has now called the agent, and i think he talked quite rudely to her. She said she will have it done today, as in send the letter to HQ to request the cheque. I will ask my fiance to call the hq on Monday to see if they received the letter and proceed with payment. Sometimes, I'm just too fed up with these agents. When they want you to buy policy, they treat you lunch, dinner, supper.. they even call you every week to ask how are you. Then after you've bought the policy, they suddenly disappear from your life. Why Malaysia still practise using agent? I think Singapore has implemented online system, where you can settle your insurance stuffs online, WITHOUT agents.

what problem will you encounter?

I think even if you buy yourself, without an agent, the insurance company wont rebate you those commision. And if you were to be an agent yourself, you need minimum policies per year so that you can continue drawing commisions from your previous deals.

Those are the info i get when i almost became an insurance agent.

Did you cancel through your agent? Cheques are normally posted direct to your address, unless you specify that you are getting it from your agent. Sometimes, the insurance company also didn't inform the agent that the client cancelled the policy, hence some agents having no idea that you expect a cheque to be sent by them.

Yea, cancelled through agent. and told her to have the cheque sent to my office address, i sms her my address + my name + my phone number + my policy number. she has no excuse of not knowing bout it. She told me she would have it done, just needed some time. I gave her 6 months, she gave me RUBBISH..

And what info do users need on insurance policies? Actually, all those info will be written in the contract. For any educated Malaysian, I don't think there'll be any problem for them to understand those contents. If those who are only SPM grad can sell insurance, why can't those who are undergrad understand the policies they are going to buy?

Anyway, those medical terminology that not easily can understand by any educated Malaysian. I have read through my policy and found those Critical illness have their exclusion and terminology which I don't understand and require to search 1 by 1 from internet.

And majority of the part time or maybe full time agent won't fully understand the plan they are selling. High probability that they don't even read the content of the policy before.

Then isn't it better to study by yourself, coz it's for your own benefit.. I don't see the problem of googling those terminologies.. in fact, it aids in improving you - as a whole.

I have to agree with what you say, I've even came across agents who are only PMR grad but selling tons of policies. Talk about Malaysia becoming a developed country >.<

Added on December 8, 2010, 11:04 amHey Al,
hows the other 2 threads going...no more posting there rite???

I agree with you on that...that's why ppl...BUYERS!!!! of anything...CAVEAT EMPTOR applies...aka buyers beware...if u dun ask ur agent den who's fault is it...when u dun ask ur agent when will dey learn to be more professional??? so help us help you. u wanna know something...i'll find out for u the best i can. else i'll inform you of wat my findings r....

if u have those agents who just wanna close you case n collect premiums...pls lo....Use your brains lo..THINK AGAIN n look for an agent who will really provide you with follow up and professional service; advise, explanation, solution solving.

True for buyers who know what they need and what they want but untrue for those buyers who are ignorant. Most of them only listens and seldom questions. Even if agents gives them answer, they also don't know where to verify it. But agents dun care, the least questions they have, the easier their life is. Mind set bro.. I'm pretty sure you are a good agent. Continue helping those in need! rclxms.gif

Add in something, sometimes we will not know what's the agent real attitude. Like i say, b4 you purchase, they treat you very good, explain everything to you. Once you signed that doc, they go *puff* just like that..
