There is always a cost to something that is 'good', in this case, AIA's unlimited lifetime limit ! wink.gif

Also not to forget AIA is until age 100 while ING is only up to age 70.

dont think the NCB is significant and i believe the premium would have been hiked up to contain the pay back thing. at the end all status quo. to me, it's all marketing gimmick.

the next question is: how many people is willing to fork out the $ to pay for stand alone medical card after 70 years old?

I just got the premium table for AIA ECP+MCP (AIA ECP+MCP Premium) and it costs >7k for medical coverage over 70 years old

How many people willing to fork out? Its depend on the people actually, if he think he has financial stable and dun mind to pay for it for a peaceful sleep every day, why not?
And not all people will go for unlimited lifetime limit, maybe 600k or 900k will do for them? That will not cost so much for sure.

Well some people buy medical card as a rider with their life policy. Use the cash value accumulated to pay the medical card expenses every year. Medical card rider can be paid monthly, for those who can't fork out high premium at once. Standalone? no.

Yes. It will pay you back when you did not make claim in a year.
Pay back amount is from RM100 ~ RM500/year depends on the plan you choose.

To all AIA agents out there, i have a question to ask. Currently, I have AIA ILP with the medical plan Excelcare 150. I would like to upgrade to the current ECP+MCP200. Can i upgrade/convert within the same policy? Will there be any increment of premium upon conversion/upgrade? what is the procedure to upgrade/convert?

appreciate your feedback. thanks.

Added on September 22, 2009, 5:15 pmmy wife bought prudential ilp sometime ago and it has PMM3 medical rider in it. can any prudential agent share out the PMM3 coverage, including co-insurance. cant remember the coverage now and not having the policy doc with me at the moment as well.

my wife's agent has resigned and switched to another insurance company and NO agent has been reassigned to/contacted my wife until now. I have been asking Prudential for a replacement agent for probably a year plus now but so far no response, i.e. i contacted customer service and they push to the agency but then agency no response, then i go back to customer service and the cycle goes back again and again.

i guess that says a lot about prudential services, particularly of that agency.

as for my aia agent, i'm in touch with the agent now and working on the upgrade plan submission.

monthly payment of RM220 should be consist not only medical card(Smart Medic), it should be with other plan too. But not sure it is traditional or ILP.

Whether there is any better plan will depends on your needs. No such thing as best plan that suit everybody.

Agree with what c.o.ol. said. SmartMedic is medical card attach to ILP.
220 surely is not just medical card. surely life +disability+personal accident+critical illness add on to it. The pro about this plan is fixed premium and also all in it package under low premium cost.
The con is depend on what you think of ILP. The insurance charge will increase as year goes.
Smart Medic is GE ILP medical card. i can give your further advice if you need it.

Yes, its does cover all those. But am wondering is there other insurance company oferring similar plans? Dont really like the co-insurance things, ie
have to pay 10% or 500 each time hospitalisation.

The ILP, i was told that if terminate around age 60, can get back 50K. In the event of death, the payout is 50K, or if any of the 36 illness will
also get a lum sum of 50K.

So is this plan worth while, I am not sure.

yup. many company has this plan. this plan is worthwhile if you wish to get all in one protection with small premium value. Plus a medical card that is build in and guarantee renewable. Plus, the co-insurance can be cover by having Hospitalization income benefit rider. The premium is also waived when you have critical illness or disability(ge case). Plus it offer some sort of saving in it. i can explain or meet up with you wish you wish to understand further. The medical card even thought got co-insurance. but, please be aware, mostly no co-insurance medical card have limit on kidney and cancer treatment. In this case is as charged. Plus most of no co-insurance medical card will increase premium cost when get older and it is standalone.
Meaning when it is standalone, medical card might still be payed when you have critical illness.
when you have no co-insurance clause in it, the cost is hidden. Hospital will charged higher cost cos insurance companies cover and use up your annual limit faster than with co-insurance medical card.

I believe tons of them. On par if not better.

Why not let the agents know what kind of protection u after instead of they design u a plan?
Basically that should be the way, learn what the customer want instead of prepare customer something they may want/not want.

Eg, breakdown on what u require. CI/CPA/CIWP/medical and etc.
