No, it depends on the age the product design. This is called the multiple sum assured. It is stated very clearly in ILP quotes

It really depend on what u want. If u dont want any hassle in investment, traditional life insurance aka savings plan that offers 4 to 8% interest is the way to go. These plans are virtually no risk, and the only setback is that u need to wait for long term.

In investment linked policies, you are subjected to investment risk ie. its the same as all unit trust funds out there. The good thing is that u can bundle every single aspect of insurance in it. But do bear in mind, that if the investment risks are too high or the cost of insurance (cost of the insurer charges to cover you) becomes too high, then the policy may lapse.

It always has its pros and cons, just the budget and the timeframe that suits u best.

Hope this helps and u can pm me if u need more details on what i'm saying here. Thanks

You should study abit on various plan offered in the market, let it be traditional-par and non par as well as investment-linked.

A few noobie Q's:

[1] Does PA cover only total loss of use, or also covers injury that can be treated, e.g. broken bone

[2] Is there any worldwide travel policy that also covers while at home?

[3] Can such as above be purchased on-line?

If you think you want a second opinion, you may as well get an advise from a life insurance broker. I found this page on the net www.state.com.my. Hope this will help. biggrin.gif
