i was thinking about this seriously too. but,
i can't find any information about maintaining the filter.
i read simota website saying that it requires compressed air to blow the dirt out and chemical to wash the filter and recharge it with oil. i don't have air gun, i don't know where to buy the recharge oil. and nobody could tell me about it
but when i asked around .. i noticed ppl are like not even use the recharge oil at all. i'm not sure if it is ok to use the filter without oil. since the oil is the main ingredient to filter the dust and dirt.
*as per instruction, it requires recharge oil. -> http://www.simota.com/instruction.php
i've used K&N for my previous cars and there's proper information and instruction online on how to maintain the filter like how to wash it with chemical or how to recharge it etc. kinda sad K&N not making Axia's air filter.
You can get the simota cleaning kit at works engineering itself or any automotive repair shop that does racing enhancements. Sunway itself has dozens of shop selling it. I bought mine for less than 80, can't remember exactly. There's manual inside, includes cleaner and the oil. Clean it every 5000km. i can't find any information about maintaining the filter.

For warranty, just keep your original and put it back when you send for service. Replacing the air filter takes less than 10 seconds. Open front bonet, take unhook two pins at air filter, take out original filter, replace with simota filter, close two pins, close bonet, done.
