Hey guys! I need serious opinions on which laptop to choose from as there are just too many laptops out there. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif My budget is between 3 to 4.5k, I don't game much but I am an engineering student who is going to use MATLAB, AutoCAD, etc.. One thing is I want a laptop that can run smoothly even after a few years. Please, please recommend something.

for AutoCAD clock speed is the things you should concern most. Try to look for those processor with H or HQ at the back not those with U which means for ultra portable laptop.

engineering works ey? You can try MSI'S PE series (good screen, less gaming power, I7 processor) or our CYBERFORGE G15 (slightly pricier but good for gaming and work)

Not really an issue. As long as not too heavy to bring around to class

With your usage requirements, look for the notebooks with Intel i7 processors to run your programs faster. Don't think you will need a Nvidia Quadro card unless you're also using AutoCAD Inventor or doing big complex simulations.

MSI has a few notebooks with the latest Intel i7 Skylake processors. Main advantage is that it supports DDR4 RAM and depending on available slots can upgrade to 64GB RAM.

Compare between the MSI GE72 6QC @RM4,499 and the MSI PE70 6QE @4,199. Both using Intel i7-6700HQ and Nvidia 960M GPU.

GE series has more gaming features like SteelSeries keyboard and app, Killer LAN etc.

See if there are any offers online. Happy Shopping! icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif

yup, u may go for MSI PE70 6QE which comes with i7-6700HQ, nVidia Geforce GTX 960M & etc..
besides, you can enjoy faster speed if you would like to upgrade SSD as it comes with PCI-e Gen 3 x 1 slot (optional)..
