btw let's say if I were to apply for Unifi Advance 30 then after the installation terminate my VIP5, what are the things that I should consider of during the installation of Unifi Advance 30(I see that you need to give back the BTU so need to call them to install the new BTU? and what not )?

EDIT: landed house btw
*
I used to be a Biz 5 customer and then changed to VIP 10 few years back. They wouldn't allow change like that so a new installation is required.

When they come, they swap the equipment and uses the same fibre line. Effectively I have 2 UniFi accounts at that time.

Once the UniFi 10 is installed and stable, went to TMPoint to terminate my Biz 5 account.

basically that is what I had in mind as well, apply new one, install the new one then terminate the old one.

btw, I've been seeing a lot of complains on speed being capped after downloading a certain amount of gb of data, does it still persist?

Really depends on the equipment and location. I invested quite heavily on router (1k+) sweat.gif .

hmm okay, probably see how others reply to get a better overview of it. What router are you using? Asus? TP-Link? or Mikrotik router laugh.gif

I've replaced my stock router with a mikrotik router. If my mikrotik's AP cannot push that much of bandwidth(possible because I like to transfer files upstairs to downstairs using wifi) I can just get a more powerful AP to do that job instead.

Anyway, 1k+ for a router, what setup do you have at home  laugh.gif

oh okay......... that is like............ so high end.  laugh.gif  still, if your device cannot support 802.11ac also no use  laugh.gif  despite having the extra bandwidth helps, that is if you run some services in your internal network, which leads me to the question of what do you run at your home  laugh.gif

I have this router model and I place the router on upstairs. It cannot cover much downstairs. Even got coverage also around 5-10Mbps (Using this model when I'm VIP20).

anyone with Unifi 50 can try to do speedtest via P1 speedtest for me please? Reason being, I can easily hit 52mbps via wifi with speedtest.net but only able to get 30mbps on speed.p1.com.my. Please help. Appreciate it lots.
*
Around that speed as well. Probably due to P1 speedtest server limitation.

Just received my bill today and am a little shocked to see the charges.

They are charging me RM 265 per month and a 6% GST on top of that, making the total sum for last month's 50Mbps subscription to RM 281.

I was told during the telecommunication offer the package will be priced at RM 249 and even if that include GST should only be RM 264.

Will be dropping by TM Point tomorrow to seek clarification as well as asking for the extra RM 20 discount.

this is a transitional bill: from VIP20 --> Unifi Advance Plus (50mbps). a lot of proration smile.gif

cheap wat, Unifi Advance Plus @ RM219/mth.
you upgraded on 12 Oct, so the Unifi Advance Plus is prorated (RM183.68) until 6 Nov (your bill date = 7th)

then the VIP20 prorated as well, to "refund" back to you (RM-192.08) until 6 Nov. <-- refund because you were charged VIP20 fee last month already, so this month they refund back.

then 1 full month advance charge: Unifi Advance Plus (RM219.00) until 6 Dec.
the remaining is the Hypptv lor. same proration, in page 4, i guess.
remember, all monthly fee is 1 month advance.
*
I see.
Thanks for the explanation.
Think I'll still drop by TM Point later for the RM 20 discount. thumbup.gif
