Vip5-20 use symmetrical tech while 30-50mbps use asymmetrical tech.

A lot people complain regarding asymmetrical tech currently and tm trying to fix it stage by stage.
*
It will be great if TM can offer as add-on for a reasonable fee to increase upload speed to 10Mbps & 20Mbps.

Already expected when TM started to give upgrade to certain users earlier and now more users are getting it, so it is the standard. biggrin.gif
*
Well, I just realized that I actually have 10Mbps upload speed now too! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Will upgrade Streamyz to Unifi soon.
As we know..TM stock router lousy..
So, during installation...can I ask TM technician to setup directly to my own router (already buy it)?
*
I doubt so. Only standard installation using TM stock router.

All you need to do, set it up yourself once the installer leaves.

I have been experiencing problem with my Unifi 30... wifi connection suddenly loses internet. HyppTV still continue playing. I plugged in LAN to laptop, there's internet! but Wifi on 3 iPhones doesn't have internet connected. Earlier I thought it was the stock router's problem (it was happening like every 1 or 2 days), so I changed to TPLink TL-WR1043ND. And I encountered the same problem again. I needed to restart the router to fix it. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice on this?

Set the WiFi channel width to 20MHz (NOT 40MHz). It is a well-known issue that Apple devices don't work well with 20MHz.

Also, like @blacktubi said, if you live an area crowded with Wireless AP (especially in high-rise), you may want to consider 5GHz or better still, invest in HomePlug technology which is exactly what I am using.

sorry, typo, I mean don't work well with 40MHz, which is why I said set it to 20MHz.

The new upload speed is already advertised on their page.

Anyway, I used to get RM 179 with free voice until I found out two days ago it has been removed. hmm.gif
Will check later if it is reinstated back to me. laugh.gif
I don't use it so it's not really a big problem to me.
*
Looks like they are doing an audit on all user subscription to ensure you only get what you paid for.

Yes, as above. Just found out two days ago, not sure since when. laugh.gif
*
Previously after I managed to get my RM20 discount, I could see the Voice STD 20 (Free) with the "Click to Add" button shown but I noticed since a few weeks ago the entire thing is missing too.

I guess they just did a blanket clean up and remove those free calls on Advance packages. smile.gif
*
Ya, a blanket cleanup as I don't think they manually check as there are tens of thousands of subscribers. Rather they run a script that loops through each customer and check if they have free voice, then remove it.

I got my 10mbps upload from my 30mbps package and I still got Residential Voice from my OCC. How did you check out on your removal?
*
You will definitely see the Residential Voice in your OCC. That is because the service is provided to you.

What is actually removed is the Voice STD 20 (Free) package.

What I know is, if BTU (Fiber or VDSL2 modem) faulty, then you get it replaced for free (lifetime warranty). But make sure they waive the RM500 charge in your bill. I noticed my unbilled charge have that, I am unsure if they waive it later, so I tweeted TMConnects and the waive it after 2 weeks.

As for router, phone & IPTV STB, once warranty is over, if any of the equipment faulty, you can get them to replace for you, and you have 2 choices:

1) Pay for it.
2) Get it replaced free, but with 2 years contract renewed.

As for those who renewed contract due to service upgrade, the 1-year warranty on old equipment is refreshed, so you get to get free replacement ONLY if it is faulty.

QUOTE(Jellyjian @ Feb 1 2016, 10:57 PM)
Hmm...but the procedures will be troublesome right? I am currently nt bound by the contract period already. How do you make a new account? Any penalties in terminating the current account?
~.~ Well free things are free =x. What router do you recommend?
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 1 2016, 10:58 PM)
No penalty of cancelling if you are no longer on contract but there is a risk that your port may be grabbed by others.
So register a new account and after it is activated only terminate the old one.

Yes, because they announce/publish it everywhere that these Advance packages don't come with free unlimited landline calls. laugh.gif
*
I now wonder, those who did NOT request for the RM20 discount but have Free Voice STD available to them, do they still have the free voice??

Maybe I need check with my cousin, I remember I told him to request for the discount but he didn't because he wants the free calls.

I didn't request as well because I don't need it. I didn't know I have this free call until December. laugh.gif
And yes, it is removed now. laugh.gif
*
Err, I mean those who did NOT request for the RM20 discount like many of us did after complaining to MCMC & then went to TMpoint to fill up the form.

These subscribers are supposed to have the free voice. We were told that getting the RM20 discount means forfeiting the free calls.

Err... Actually when I upgraded (before RM 20 discount), my free calls were removed. After I complained and got my RM 20 discount, the next day this thing already appeared on my package but I didn't know it was free calls until Dec. laugh.gif
*
Hmm, your case is rather special biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
My wild guess, they supposed to remove your free calls to get RM20 discount, but because yours were removed earlier, the accidentally added in instead biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Guys, my home telephone line and UNIFI 20 has been down since last Thursday.

Been calling TM everyday and they kept promising that it will be fixed the next day but never did even until today.

What can I do? I have been receiving calls to upgrade my package to 30 recently, but i refused due to the lower upload speed. I am now suspecting whether they did it (disabling my house telephone line) on purpose so that I will upgrade the package.  Help!
*
Try tweet them and see if it helps to speed up?

Hoho. I guess too many people pressured them and they can't deliver. tongue.gif
I guess it still goes back to the old slow upgrade (by batch). tongue.gif
*
Perhaps they will make an official announcement on it some day? E.g. on the same day they launch, perhaps a 100Mbps package?
