OK, I will check it out.

By the way, if I want to terminate my UniFi, will I require to return all the equipment? Assuming if I have installed other stuff in it, will that still be acceptable?
*
you can always uninstall it though laugh.gif

Is there any way i can convert my unifi to old 20Mbps download/upload from 30Mbps right now?

I need high upload due to some reason (business purpose).
*
I don't think so because the old plans are not available now.

I want to install Youtube app since the bundled one is non-upgradeable. Already installed the .apk, but it's only showing up black - and navigating with the remote is a horror show since the app is made for touch interface.
*
A lot of apps are not made compatible for iptv, the best example being Google Play Store sweat.gif nowadays using mouse to do stuff icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Guys,

Hows the 30MB connection speed so far ? Heard a lot of complains from Unifi Customer Care about the speed is not stable at all.

Unifi contract already expired but still tempting whether to upgrade to Unifi 30 or not.
*
if you're on vip5, you should feel that your speed has slowed down a lot as well. Unifi 30 is okay though, if you're upgrading from vip5 but don't expect miracles laugh.gif

one good advise is to change the crappy router if you are using the stock....
*
I've already changed to custom rom but the issue is not on the router but on tm's side.

Any idea what's the difference between Asus RT-N12 and Asus RT-N12HP?
*
HP = High Power = better coverage and signal compared to N12.

My bundled youtube can't even play anything.you can search for video but it woudnt play , just show error.I can't even play youtube using bundled browser, same error.

TM installer said "yeah its like that,  they dont know why it not working rclxub.gif , they only need to set it up and make sure hppytv works .I did ask why bother bundled youtube if it cant/doesnt work, he just laugh say no idea.Nothing he can do as they only need hppytv to work.

If i use browser and try some other streaming site , some can but terrible blocky quality like lower then 240p

Probably firmware locking issue then again im no expert so i have no idea what to think, haven't even bothered with it since.
*
just tried it and had the same result. Not bothered with it as well because I'm using Kodi laugh.gif

buying asus rt-ac87u from taobao... hopefully the item will be delivered successfully to here...

keeping finger cross....
*
you bought it for 680+ or 1k+, the 680+ one sounds really sketchy to me........ even for the 1k one, it is not really worth it because you'll be taxed for it.

Sorry was on wife's lowyat account laugh.gif

How do I check my USB network adapter spec?

I mentioned it's a TP Link Archer T4U.
I'm seeing 144 mbps if that's what you want?

Sorry, a little blur with networking stuffs.
Any another recommendations then? Don't mind spending a few bucks for another network adapter to test out the speed.

If it helps, it's a TP-Link Archer T4U network adapter.

Side note : I'm still on the crappy Unifi default router. I have a Dlink DIR-850L from my previous house which I can recycle.

Do you think that changing the router to the Dlink would yield a better result? smile.gif

Thanks for the help!
*
its a decent one though, is your router on a different floor/blocked by a lot of walls? If yes then you may want to add the DIR 850L as an access point for a better experience

Only 1 wall. It's around 6~8 inches thick probably?

The router is at the living room and the distance would be about 1 meter at most from my desktop.

How do I add the DIR 850L as an access point yeah? Can't see it in the settings actually laugh.gif

Was thinking to just replace the default router with the Dlink as it's unifi compatible + has 5 ghz channel laugh.gif
*
if you're getting better speeds when you're not blocked by that wall then I guess it is its the wall issue then.

Anyway, do change your router first and see if it helps, the stock router is doh.gif

I honestly agree that the stock router's shyte.

Side note : I thought Unifi's technician are supposed to hand me my unifi password for the network? I receive my username via email : XXX@unifi.com but I did not receive my password later.

Can I just call 100 and ask TM for the password? laugh.gif
*
yes, they didn't give me to me also and I called TM CS to get it and what I can say is........... make a call now, only start to listen to it 20 minutes later doh.gif

currently on streamyx 2mps and i'm not too urgent to upgrade to unifi but definitely need to do that by June as all hardcore people coming back. so just wondering if the 30mbps 179 (from 199), is a good offer
*
yeah, definitely, especially if you compare it with what you're using right now laugh.gif

I'm using Yes4G (RM98 for 5GB/5GB peak/offpeak) for my Internet atm and thinking to upgrade to unifi. But 30Mbps for 2 person seems overkill
*
not really. Nowadays, you'll need a min of 5mbps to stream 1080p contents (with little to minimal lag). 30mbps for 2 is just 15mbps for the both of you(of course its not really like that if you didn't do qos, but this is just to show the bandwidth split for each device)

Our internet speed is still simply not that fast enough yet where we can say that it is overkill (given that we are being capped quite heavily right now sweat.gif ). Let's say if you're using 100mbps and you want to upgrade to 200mbps then that can be overkill in some sense (you don't see that much of improvement as compared to 2mbps upgrade to 30mbps). Still, given human nature, we want more laugh.gif

p/s: I used to use VIP5 and there's 3 "active" people(me included of course) at my house and once one of them starts to go full on then the other two whistling.gif whistling.gif rclxub.gif already. Nowadays got 30mbps all happy laugh.gif

I have another problem, I don't know where should I put this thingy, must be together with my router or it can run on its own?
*
if you're not using the hypptv channel, then it can be anywhere as the huawei stb can get internet connectivity through wifi. If you want the hypptv but don't want it to be beside your router, still can be done through a router or a l3 switch(and of course a powerline + lan cable/direct lan cable to your place where you want to put it).

But I recall that you don't have a tv right?

Great, I'm not using any HyppTV. I just want it to work like an Android box. laugh.gif
Yes, I don't have a TV but I have a monitor with HDMI, does it work?
*
yeap. it will. Just wondering about the tv part just now, because actually there's Kodi for Windows too, so you can just directly stream it from your laptop.
