i think better you change the PSu to a higher rated one. seasonic silence pro 750W is a good psu. you can get from lingloong @ RM329 for this psu.

if the psu is not enuf due to increasing the voltage, the pc will BSOD

Will increasing the clock speeds increase voltage ?

If lets say my PC BSOD , will it damage my GPU ? Yup will consider buying new PSU soon.
*
increase your cpu clock speed (increase fsb or increase multi), if the system not stable, only then increase your voltage. not increase voltage from the beginning. beside, you have to see ram speed oso (if you increase fsb)
you can oc your BE without increase fsb, just increase the cpu multi will do.

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Mar 21 2011, 04:32 PM)
No, you increase voltage then only you increase your clock speeds.

Don't listen to that person, he is just crapping. BSOD won't damage your GPU, and 500W is enough even if you OC your GTX 560 Ti.
The fastest GTX 560 Ti on the planet, the Gigabyte SOC version also recommends 500W. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3729#ov

Heck, 750W can even run 2xGTX570 doh.gif
*
1. yes it wont damaged your GPU.
2. the way i ask to upgrade to 750W is i think upgrade to somethin 550W or 560W or 620W like that is not worth. thats all

edited : one more thing, other forumer (i blieve they are very otai in OC : from OC united) oso suggest to me to upgrade my psu to 750W if i wana OC my RiG even mine is low end spec. yes, i can upgrade to somethin seasonic 620 or strider 600 but again, its not worth.. correct me if i'm wrong

Meh. Increasing your voltage first is recommended, what if he keep spamming the clock speed first? that will lead to the whole PC to hang if there isn't enough voltage. smile.gif

750W PSU don't come in cheap, compared to 500W @ RM200. If you think you buying a 600W+ PSU to overcome the 'not worth' value, what about the budget? and the PSU ageing process will affect the combined power output stated at a true power PSU.

Firstly, what is your rig specification? if just a simple GTX 560 Ti OCed needs a 750W, then what about HD6990 OC? 2000Watts?
*
Rig : phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz
hyper 212+
Asus M4A87TD/USB3 (i know this low end mobo not suitable to push until 4Ghz)
KVR 2Gb*2 ddr1333
sapphire 4850 512d3
WD GC 1Tb
ST56F

of coz higher true power psu not cheap. so i just hold my plan to OC due to low end mobo + old psu (low rate power) . its about 2 years edy for my psu. i dont know if you are expert in OC but since i OC my X2, what i've learn is increase fsb 1st, for BE, increase cpu multi 1st, if not stable (BSOD) then only increase the vcore.

beside, have to watch the ram speed oso. higher ram speed (OC) oso have to increase Vdimm, or lower the multi (ram divider) if wana keep at stock vdimm. last time i oso have been adviced in OC thread to change psu 1st before OC my X2 (before i bought this ST56F)

anyway just do correct me if i'm wrong. its better than you face me down notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Yes, either way will do. But you see, when your rig BSOD, you're taking even longer time to OC your rig. You've to start all over again sad.gif
But I think that way is the most standard procedure used by most people.

you raise your CPU clock speed, of course you have to raise your RAM clocks also la laugh.gif
*
BE is unlock multiplier proc. dont need to increase the fsb. we can increase the multi proc only to reach higher clock. but if we increasing the fsb, the ram speed automatically will increase. thats why we need to set lower divider for the ram if want to run at stock Vdimm.

even its not bsod, we also take long time, becoz we need to boot the system everytime we increase the fsb. smile.gif

Hmm. Don't know much about how does BE CPUs work, so I'm in no position to say how AMD overclock mechanism works.

boot the system? BSOD around 10 times vs boot 1 time, which is the smarter way?
*
Y must wait until bsod 10 time? if that the situation, i suspect you not increase the fsb step by step. i mean U just jump into a huge value. basically, we have to increase by 5, step by step. if cant boot or bsod, then increase the vcore by 1 notch.

erm.. that is basic on OC. i dont want to talk about that. but for my RiG, OCer members very recommend me to change psu 1st. mine is very low end gc compare to joscmh90

hi, my psu enough to sli gtx 560 ti in future? (including oc cpu and gpu)
*
i see many people who OC their i5 / i7 with 5** GTX SLi are using 1000Watt and above.. so i don't know if your psu is enough or not. maybe it will work hard

lowest psu i can find is Ultra X4 850 W Modular here

1000w? r u joking me? Yup, i saw ppl recommend 850w for gtx 570 + oc in rig build recommend, but not sure gtx 560 ti + oc.
*
actually they always recommend a more than enough psu. in OC thread, even you are not OC oso they recommend a much2 more than enough psu to avoid any failure to the hware - even the % to fail is very small with a bit lower psu

So can i say Silverstone Strider series PSUs are very good PSU with low ripple?
Might get one since seems like most shops don't have seasonic PSU at the moment?

you can get seasonic here

why many people choose silverstone or Gigabyte instead cooler master?
because price  or spec?
i see no difference

CM has bad issue due to high ripple psu. how you see the difference.
