If i would like to take it for RMA, do i need to go back to the same shop where i bought it?can i send it back to the distributor (how do i know who is the distributor?) and will they help me fix it?Thanks..
*
no point you ask us. ask the distributor directly la.

as to your problem, could be PSU issue.

in my case, i also kena electrocuted biggrin.gif but mine was due to faulty wires.

The problem is not constant right? Sumtimes buzzing sumtimes not buzzing? This is sumtimes caused by unclean power from my own experience. Like in my hse, when sum1 turns on the hot water heater in the bathroom, my PSU starts buzzing, my projector TV also has these horizontal lines running up n down the screen while the shower is on. The minute the heater goes off, all these things stop. Weird but true. laugh.gif

yes. it happens, my neighbour also like that faced similar problems.

i think it's enough la.

my 450w PSU works fine with HD2900XT 512MB

however if i OC and run game - *poof* the bugger power down and restart shortly tongue.gif

anyway you try first lor, if cannot then can always sell.

Plenty of guides on the internet. You just have to link pin13 and pin14 between each PSU.
Alternatively, just connect both pins with a metal clip and everytime you turn on the power, it'll start running.

yeah. in my case, i did the most basic type of dual-PSU. biggrin.gif no special devices, it was a quick setup cos i don't have the luxury at present to get a nicer PSU.

as long as it works. basically i power up 2 machines. the secondary rig provides supplementary power to the GC. smile.gif the secondary rig PSU, though 450w, was not able to power-up the GC it seems.

it'll show windows loading but never got to desktop. suspect is the lacking on the rails but i haven't examine the specs yet. PSU brand is PowerLogic.

well anyway long story short, the CM PSU could power the GC nicerly but just lack the juice for OCing so the secondary rig's PSU provided for that lack.

ah? no la. i just run it like how i explained earlier.

my main rig PSU still powers everything as usual.

the secondary rig PSU provides additional power support on the HD2900XT. biggrin.gif

i'm coming up with a new tool for PSU choosing. brows.gif in the mean time - this thread looks good so far.

about the future proof thing - it's nonsense!

buy a 700w PSU today, and 2 years down the road the max output would've dropped. future proof what?

and buy 500w PSu today would it mean it won't be supporting stuff next year? not really, if you look at computers, manufacturers always aim to lower the power requirements as the fabrication processors goes smaller and smaller. don't believe? see for yourself http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=337&pgno=8 for CPU (Intel)

pentium 4 / pentium D has higher TDP than what we have now, the Core series. only the higher range have higher TDP ............

but here's the interesting part (and I'm might use this on my upcoming article) - if you're always using it on low-medium range, your PSU is likely to last the next few generation of medium range. and when you can suddenly afford a high range, you can also afford the PSU for it. biggrin.gif so yeah, if you can afford higher range processor, so can you afford higher range PSU too.

seriously, there's no way you could suddenly afford a GTX295 / Core i7 and not afford to get a PSU for it. it just doesn't make sense.

graphic cards? http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=88&pgno=5 similar, you'll see that the TDP is similar as well.

so far I like the Gigabyte Odin series. I think Corsair also have modular PSU for that wattage range.

using the Gigabyte PoweRock 390w now. biggrin.gif nice PSU so far.

btw about the pins, you can't go wrong la. those LED / HDD / PW SW connectors, wrong direction also nevermind.

those other connectors - they're all made as such that if it's THE TYPE, it will fit THE SOCKET. eg if it's PSU connector, it will only fit the appropriate socket. sames goes to SATA, SATA POWER, and whatever other connector types out there. If you need to FORCE, then that's not the connector for it already. smile.gif
