Actually I also got the same PSU and planning to get GTX 570/580, just curious whether it could support those GPU or not?
Yup, CM Silent Pro M600 is sufficient for single GTX 570 and GTX 580 Choosing The Right PSU, Discussions about power supply units.

If the rest of your system components is exactly like what your CPU-Z report states, then yes, the Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 will support the GTX570 or the GTX580 and your system without any problems. |

QUOTE(jasonlts @ Jun 5 2011, 12:02 AM) Dear all, need help from you guys. Recently I bought a 2 TB WD hdd. Hi, appreciate if anyone can advise After a few weeks of using it, my PC became unstable. It will suddenly restart itself and then once it starts my Windows 7 x64 will boot then goes straight to sleep mode. This has happened twice and I think it has crashed 2 HDDs so far. I need to know if the following configuration to support the power requirements ... My current PSU - Coolermaster Extreme Power 450W Mobo is Gigabyte P45 UD3L. 1. CPU - Intel Quad Q6600 G0 stepping 2. RAM - 4 x 2 GB DDR2 1066 Mhz Kingston HyperX 3. 2 x 5400 RPM 500 GB HDD 4. 1 x 2 TB 7200 Western D 5. Graphic card - low end Nvidia 7600 6. 1 x DVD-RW 7. USB devices - 1 wired mouse, 1 wireless keyboard 8. Built-in sound card Please let me know if the above configuration is alright or i need to buy a new PSU with higher capacity. Thanks and regards |

QUOTE(jasonlts @ Jun 6 2011, 07:49 AM) Is the card an nVidia 7600GS or a 7600GT? Anyway, these two cards do not consume a lot of power, and your power supply should support the entire system without any problems. But according to your statement, it seems like two hard disk drive has already crashed for no apparent reason on this system. Have you tried getting another power supply to test your system with? You could buy the Gigabyte PoweRock 390W at RM69 ( All IT ) if you do not have any additional power supply to test your system, which will also run your system fine. |

I’ve heard of rails, how many do I need?
Now this is a proper marketing war, over a simple difference in design. Overall, units with multiple 12V rails are considered to be ‘safer’, while units with a single large 12V line are preferred by enthusiasts because they negate the possibility of a weak 12V line getting overloaded by a single power hungry device. Let’s say this nice and clearly, to avoid misunderstanding… High-end PSUs, from quality vendors, that use multiple 12v lines – are created in such a way that all of these lines exceed the ATX safety specifications. Units with single and very powerful 12V lines are [said to be – Ed] dangerous, because people try to imagine a catastrophic event which might force most of the power in the circuit being channelled through a single connector, in which case the cable would surely melt – possibly even starting a fire. The example normally quoted is when a faulty component doesn’t cause a short circuit. Quality manufacturers integrate several safety methods to ensure this does not happen, which is why such catastrophic events are extremely rare (although there is an interesting story about a French journalist who ended up in hospital while testing a ‘famous brand’ PSU – or so the story goes). copied from kitguru hmm any truth to it?? just curious |

Here is my Spec:-
Core i5 2400 Gigabyte H61 MOBO ASUS GTS450(OC ver) 4Gb ram Sony DVD Samsing 1TB WD 1TB Currently using Huntkey Balance King 450W & I dont like the sound it make when playing games (usually high graphic games) so I'm thinking for better replacement at the end of this month. I will scout shop around my town 1st . What PSU you guys recommend for my rig? Edit After scouting, here the PSU I found(within my budget RM200): AVF 750W (RM 140 only? sounds too good to be true, has 2x12v rail 22W) FSP Hexa 500 RM 1xx (If I want to buy might as well negotiate for less abit) CM Extremepower 550 Xigmatek 500W (this one very expensive) This post has been edited by newuserex: Jun 13 2011, 12:35 PM |

hi guyz i wan to ask some questions here...
what if? my system is using 300W and i use: i) 500W PSU with 80 plus rated ii) 400W PSU with 80 plus rated does it mean that if i choose option no (i) i'll be using more power (high electricity) because of higher power output that can be produced by 500W psu while my system requires only 300W and does it mean that if i use 400W psu instead my electricity consumption will be lesser? |

QUOTE(cardin @ Jun 17 2011, 12:40 AM) thanks for yr reply... No no no no no. Even if you got a 500W or a 400W power supply, if 300W is all your system needs then that's what it will actually use. The power supply will supply power according how much the system requires and not e.g 400W all the time if the total power capacity of that particular power supply is 400W. A power supply's rating is stated on the power supply itself and the box to indicate the power that it can supply up to ( for good power supplies they can usually be stressed more than what the manufacturer says, albeit not recommended ), not indicating that it supplies that amount of power 24/7.Anyway, you'll get more savings on your electrical bill on with a 500W power supply compared to a 400W power supply as power supplies usually have the best efficiency at around 45% ~ 65% of load, unless the 400W power supply is an 80 Plus certified unit ( meaning that its efficiency is guaranteed to be at least 80% up to its rated power e.g 400W ) and the 500W is not.
