QUOTE(azrys @ Jan 23 2010, 05:32 AM) Need some advise. which one is better? Single rail, Dual rail or Quad rail? I'm planning to change PSU, but confuse which one to choose. Below are my CPU detail. you can also get the Xigmatek NRP-PC602 600W RM290.Mobo = Gigabyte EP43T-UD3L Proc = C2D E8400 Wolfdale (want to oc to 3.6Ghz, 1600Mhz FSB) RAM = Corsair Dominator CL9 2X2GB 1600Mhz GC = Asus 8800 Ultra (Board max TDP = 175w - Not sure what this mean. Source http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=88&pgno=8 ) CPU Cooler = Planning to buy CM 212+ (still searching for reviews) 1 160Gb Sata HDD (planning to add 1TB WD Caviar Black) 1 DVDRAM 5 120mm FAN (still considering coz still searching for casing - power for fan can take from mobo or take direct from PSU?) Hope someone can help me. Planning to buy a true power, 80+ modular PSU. Budget MAX is RM350. |

QUOTE(popiah04 @ Jan 26 2010, 07:55 AM) Thanks. Budget wise, 250RM is okay for me. Any particular difference between those two models that I should be aware of? the st50f costs around rm260 while the xigamtek costs rm240 downwards.the xigmatek is fully sleeved while the st50f isn't.however the st50f is of higher quality |

it shouldn't be related to the PSU since a GT210 use pretty much the same power as a 8500GT.

you might want to try the GT210 in another PC first.IF it doesn't work then the GT210 needs to be sent for warranty

QUOTE(faizal87 @ Aug 28 2010, 04:24 PM) S12-II 520W is better with efficiency that's a bit higher across the board ,really low electrical noise and ripple. It's not that the ST50F is bad,but for the same price the S12-II tops itQUOTE(ZRong223 @ Sep 1 2010, 09:50 PM) I am planning to upgrade my pc right now, without changing my PSU (480W with 20A on 12V) your PSU has one or two 12V rails? If your PSU is a good 480W unit you'll be fine but inc ase you're getting the a new PSU i suggest the Seasonic S12-II 520W for RM230+-.Here is the details: Recent: Asus P5QPL-AM Mainboard Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6300 Nvidia 9400GT Graphic Card 300GB Hard Disk 4GB DDR2 Ram Samsung DVD First, I want to change my graphic card from Nvidia 9400GT to ATI Radeon 5770. Then (or final), I would like to change my processor to Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400. I hope my PSU is enough to afford this, but seems that it's impossible. If my PSU does not suit my upgraded PC, can you guys recommend a suitable PSU for me? here's the review http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Sea...y-Review/954/10 |

QUOTE(ZRong223 @ Sep 1 2010, 10:33 PM) Not sure. I just saw it on the label. seems to me that's a generic/cap ayam psu...is it light?i suggest not using a HD5770 with such PSUs.Better be safe than sorry.I think no brand there. It's a switching power supply. And there is a bigger size blue colour sentence "Super Power" =,= Maybe it's a, like what you all said, "cap ayam" PSU?? How to know how many rails in my PSU? |

it's your choice, both will work fine,it's just that the new PSU will have a longer warranty.btw,storm88 said that there will be an offer for the Seasonic S12-II 520W PSU ,it will be priced RM199 in december.

QUOTE(sk1llz @ Mar 31 2011, 07:26 AM) Hi guys.. Well,a good 400W unit like the CM Elite Power 400W would be fine but i got to ask something else, what's your budget actually?I'm planning to upgrade PSU for my old rig. Cos the current power supply for it is way too low - Total combined power of 207W, can't even power up certain 2.5" external hdd through usb port. Details of the rig: Processor: Intel Pentium D 925 CPU 3.00GHz Memory: 2.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 VGA: 256MB GeForce 7600 GS (Gigabyte) Mobo: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 945PL-S3 (Socket 775) Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 740N 17" LCD Monitor HDD: 160GB Western Digital WDC WD1600JS-56MHB1 ATA Device (SATA) Audio: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1ch PCI Sound Card. Optical drives: ASUS CB-5216A ATA Device PS/2 mouse and keyboard So, what's the recommended power supply for it? Do u guys think 400W PSU would be the suitable one? PS: i'm not planning to OC the processor/memory or upgrade its graphic card. No plans to upgrade or overhaul things? |
