QUOTE(gsem984 @ Oct 30 2015, 01:24 PM) just changed to windows10. seems quite a lot of services running background slow down my pc. I don't see any OneDrive services in the service list. But I agree, OneDrive should be disabled if you don't use it to free up RAM.any1 knows how to disable those useless services such a onedrive from windows startup? Just click the OneDrive icon in the system tray, go to its settings and untick "start OneDrive automatically". It'll be disabled from startup and the program will not run. If you don't need it, you can uninstall, but I can't guarantee the result. Read this post for uninstallation: https://techjourney.net/disable-or-uninstal...-in-windows-10/ If you want to disable other services too, then search for "Services" and refer to this page on which services are safe to be disabled: http://www.blackviper.com/service-configur...configurations/ I hope it can help |

QUOTE(Zhik @ Oct 30 2015, 01:27 PM) Just to note, I have read this somewhere that using msconfig to disable services is not recommended. This is because msconfig have an option to disable system-critical services. If you do so, it might cause problems to your system. Use the service apps instead, because services apps limit the options on system-critical services, in case you accidentally disabled it This post has been edited by Floria Scarlet: Oct 30 2015, 04:20 PM |
