I would like to build a choir or orchestra next year, most probably in KL. Anyone can join as long as they love to sing or play musical instruments. Everything will be free, except maybe a small fees for rebting places for rehearsal. This choir/orchestra is to help people who are in poverty to seek a future in music. If we succeed in the future, all proceeds will go to charity. Please give some comments or ideas and whether you are interested.

Good and noble idea. Can you tell me what skills you have to put a choir or orchestra together?

I'm just ABRSM Grade 8 and learning conducting and arranging on my own. Primary instrument is piano but I play other instruments as well.

Why you have to learn conducting and arranging on your own? ABRSM don't cover these topic? I don't know much about music for exams. I am DIY musician.

I think this "in poverty to seek a future in music" is a difficult term. If you don't put a clear definition to it. You will have difficulties going forward.

ABRSM only cover conducting in Diploma level. This project is simply just to help the poor. And if possible, teach those who are passionate about music, so they will have a good skill that may help them later on in life.
