This might be a bit off topic, but anyone has used tngo card to pay for groceries at any mydin or tesco? Does it work all the time or there is always system down or whatever?

for mydin, i will always go to the same few counters where the tng payment service is always available.
for tesco, i always go to the one dedicated counter for paying with tng card.

Cool. So is it safe to say that if there's an active/working terminal for reloading tngo, that very same terminal is used to swipe my tngo card for the transaction?

Erm, I don use tng to pay frequently.. Maybe once in a blue moon, but most of the time is ok.. 3.5 out of 5 maybe.  I think it depend which branch u go as well..

In KL I would say that this kind of service might be more efficient. I just recently moved in to Penang and looking forward to maximize cc cb, hence welcoming Penangites input here if any.

I had tried twice at Tesco, the cashier need to call the supervisor for the access. So be prepared taking long time and the people behind you will curse you

Oh man, that's not a good thing. Hoho

it depends which mydin and which tesco you are going to. the tng service varies depending on which outlet.
as for me, i always go to the dedicated counter or counters for payment using tng.
so the cashier at that counter is always an experience staff and the tng machine there is always working fine.

Noted with thanks bro.

Guys, quick question. If I want topup touch n go, maximum amount to topup is rm500? Cannot be more than 500 is it? Or I can do two transactions consecutively, example rm500+rm200?

yes, of course. just tell the cashier you want to reload rm1k. but since their max is rm500, so they have to do it 2 times. the same when i reload rm300 in early days there. they have to do it rm200+rm100 one after another. because there's no option for rm300.
*
Thanks for your advice. Reloaded rm500+rm200+rm100 at Sams just now.

I do support Sams. By buying some groceries. But using the coupon I've got by spending on bills payment prior to that. tongue.gif

Once bought the card, quickly register it at online portal so that at least we are aware the expiry date of the said card. My 2 cents.

I planned to give to my colleagues who just came to Malaysia that time, let them register under their name and it never crossed my mind that those cards will have issues because just bought from the toll during promo.

In that case, purely bad luck then.

Speaking of Sams Groceria, I talked to one of the friendly staff there on whether they are loosing money by providing ePay service by using cc payment. She said that they are not loosing money at all, but their profit is more if customers pay cash. They have some kind of agreement with ePay.

In summary, maybe it's safe to say that the service will not be discontinued by Sams, which is good news for us.

p/s: afterall, it's just what I've heard from her. If she lie, then I lie too. tongue.gif
