check TM OCC/MyTM to see how many RM50 captured.
*
For Unifi, we can see the list of payments being made.

But, for TMNet Streamyx in MyTM webpage, I cannot see the list of payments being made. Is that applicable for other TMNet Streamyx users as well?

I want to make sure that Streamyx payment made at Sam Groceria has been received by TMNet.

If you are using credit card, don't pay the same amount consecutively. For the second payment, request for different amount. If the second amount is the same, the bank will assume error and will not approve immediately.

Usually, this will happen after 2 or more consecutive transactions of same amount. Your case may not be so then.

*
You can pay multiple payment of same amount, provided that you call Hong Leong Customer Support prior to performing the transactions.

For example, you want to perform 7 x RM 50 at Giant. Notify Hong Leong Customer Support about number of transactions, transaction amounts and the merchant name.

I learnt about this the hard way. I successfully performed 6 x RM 50 at Aeon, and my card was subsequently blocked for 2 hours.

The Hong Leong Customer Support then suggested me to call them, before performing the transactions.

Moreover, things are not cheap in Sam's. So, you have to see if it's worth for it or not.

Well, Sam Groceria is the upscale version of Mydin, so naturally the price of items there is more expensive.

Anyway, we are there mostly to pay bills and reload Touch n go cards, so that we can maximize our credit card cashback. rclxms.gif

I think can guess if someone pays with wise card
*
Most of the times when I pay bills and reload TnG at Sam Groceria, other customers will use cash to pay for grocery. I have not seen others to pay bills and reload TnG, when I am there.

So, we here at this thread are indeed rare breed that make good use of e-Pay facilities in Sam Groceria, to gain cashback. smile.gif

As of now, in Sam Groceria, NU Sentral, which TNB account number should we use to pay our TNB bill? Old 14 digit bill numbers, or new 12 digit bill numbers?

It is one step backward, as we strive to become a cashless society. mad.gif

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 11 2016, 10:18 PM)
Actually I will be gladly accept if they limit the amount of transaction per customer per day. Say like RM 1k per day. Also don't allow customers to earn points from TnG reloads and ePay payments. Now just cut the CC facility off... sad.gif
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 12 2016, 01:29 AM)
Well, it could be one of the reasons but I always let people behind me to pay first if they only have few items. Actually the CS Manager told me before there are customers paying RM 30k of TNB bills every month and they have raked up their points to few hundreds thousand points. In long term, it cannot sustain anymore. I think they didn't expect normal consumers like us will have such a huge amount of bill to pay...
*
Plus, as fruitie said, no Sam points should be given for e-Pay transactions paid via credit card, and e-Pay transactions should be limited to RM 1000, per customer per day.

fruitie, could you please forward this suggestion to the outlet manager of Sam Groceria, NU Sentral (whenever you are free), since you have very good relationship with them? I will try to send this suggestion via e-mail to Sam Groceria. If more people are echoing the same sentiments, maybe we can persuade Sam Groceria to revert their decision.

What you propose won't be acceptable, because both VISA and Master don't allow  sevice charge for use of card. That is a long time issue with unscrupulous merchants in Malaysia, don't encourage it.
*
Thanks for the advice. sad.gif In my opinion, very insignificant cashback (< 1%) is given for transactions done at these unscrupulous merchants. So, if they impose such service charge, we customers are at losing ends.

In Sam Groceria, many of us will either use Wise Card (10% cashback) or Ikhwan card (5% cashback), so we still earn net cashback of 3% to 8%. tongue.gif

Anyway, I shall scrap this idea, as you suggested. smile.gif I am still trying to think of any ideas that can reinstate credit card payment in e-Pay transaction, in Sam Groceria.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 13 2016, 12:16 AM)
Well, if I get to meet their CS Manager, I will ask them why suddenly decided to take such drastic action. Then will ask if any possibility to change this though chances are low. laugh.gif
*
Yeah, just try your best. Inform your suggestion to the manager that no Sam points should be given for e-Pay transactions paid via credit card, and e-Pay transactions should be limited to RM 1000, per customer per day.

Your suggestions are the best and they should implement it.

Since we are not sure about the term and condition of the online cashback for UOB YOLO card (the potential replacement for VOX card), we are not sure whether we can easily gain 5% cashback, by using YOLO card on UOB Payonline website to pay for TMNet and TNB bills.

As of now, there is no grocery store, or any petrol station that allows the usage of credit card, for the payment of e-Pay transactions (paying TMNet bills and TNB bills), right?

Great, using Maybank 2 Card Amex to reload Touch 'n go card at Touch 'n go Hub in NU Sentral to gain 6.25 % cashback is better than using grocery cashback credit card in Jaya Grocer to gain 5 % cashback.

Any idea on what the MCC for reloading Touch 'n go card at the counter Touch 'n go Hub is? It is not so important to know the MCC, but I am just curious. smile.gif

Assume that credit cards with cashback for petrol transactions are used to reload TnG Cards, in petrol stations stated in Post 1.

Let's say that I am going to reload RM 500, to my TnG Card, in a single transaction. The petrol station allows a reload amount of RM 500 in a single transaction, to a TnG Card (with the usual RM 0.50 surcharge).

Will the bank (such as Maybank and Affin) feel weird that a single credit card transaction of RM 500 is performed in a petrol station, thus affecting cashback eligibility? Even, a full refill of petrol of a large car does not cost that much.

Thank you for your advice. smile.gif

If card feature allow service centre MCC shouldn't be problems.
*
Ok, I agree with you. smile.gif

Normally, such credit cards grants cashback for petrol transactions with MCC of 5541 (Service Stations ( with or without ancillary services)). If certain petrol stations have service centres and all credit card terminals in petrol stations and service centre have the same MCC of 5541, rightfully petrol cashback will also be given for car repair done at such service centres.

Then, it makes sense to pay RM 500 for car repair, in a single transaction.

Wow, I do not realize that a bus or truck can store that much of diesel.

Alright, then I should have no worries charging RM 500 in a single transaction in petrol station, to reload my TnG card. smile.gif

1) Oh, I think that you are referring to Hong Leong Credit Card Terminals, in Jaya Grocer. These credit card terminals have the shape similar to smartphones.

It is nice knowing that Hong Leong Credit Card Terminals in Jaya Grocer can process Amex contactless transactions. smile.gif

2) How much was your Touch n' Go reload amount? Below or above RM 250.00?

I am wondering whether Hong Leong Credit Card Terminals in Jaya Grocer can accept Amex contactless transactions above RM 250.00 or not (we tap our Amex credit card and then key in our PIN).

Thank you for your information. smile.gif

For example, I want reload RM 400 to my Touch n' Go Card.

For that, Jaya Grocer cashier will reload RM 199.50 in two separate transactions to my Touch n' Go Card. So, the balance of my Touch n' Go Card will be increased by RM 399.00.

However, after that, Jaya Grocer cashier will charge RM 400 to my credit card, in a single transaction.

The reason that I am asking about the credit card payment amount above RM 250.00 is that I know whether Hong Leong Credit Card Terminals can accept Amex contactless transactions above RM 250.00.

Other credit card terminals that accept Visa and MasterCard payment cards only will decline contactless transactions above RM 250.00, while other credit card terminals accept contactless transactions above RM 250.00, provided that PIN is pressed on the terminals.

Thank you for your information, beebee1314. All the while, I thought that only Maybank credit card terminals can process Amex contactless transactions.

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Oct 25 2020, 03:22 PM)
No they wont force to charge ur card in a single transaction.
If u insists, u can pay separately RM200 + RM200 the cashier have to entertain u.

FYI i've done that before, topup RM200 make payment using my own Amex, topup RM200 again make payment using my spouse Amex.

*
Yes, I agree with you that we can request the cashier to charge our credit cards twice.

If we are using just 1 credit card (instead of 2 credit cards as in your own case), there is no need to split RM 400 into two separate credit card transactions. Just as beebee1314, we want to minimize our exposure time (single credit card transaction instead of two), and the exposure to credit card terminal (via contactless, instead of pin-and-pay).

Please add the finding by strawsticks, as follows. This Shell station is near Taman Pertama MRT, Cheras. I reloaded my TnG card with Amex there, in January this year.

TnG reload denominations (payable via credit card) are: RM 10, RM 20, RM 50, RM 100, RM 150, RM 200 and RM 500.

Thank you. smile.gif

They don't allow reloads at Aeon Maluri Cheras anymore. But tried the Shell station near Taman Pertama MRT and it worked. Reloaded RM200 with Amex

All credit goes to strawsticks, for discovering TnG reload with credit card, in the Shell station near Taman Pertama MRT.

Transaction Description: SHELL-AFR ELITE VENTURES KUALA LUMPUR MY

I am sorry that I did not manage to get the correct MCC from Maybank Credit Card CS. CS gave me a weird MCC of 5411, which did not make sense at all, because 5411 is for Grocery Stores.

Perhaps, I might have heard wrongly, or the CS gave me wrong MCC. It should have been 5541 Service Stations ( with or without ancillary services), but I am unable to confirm. In short, my MCC information is not reliable.

The general information I got from Maybank CS is that Maybank only retains the MCC, during the transaction date. Suppose that a customer calls Maybank CS a day after the transaction, Maybank system has supposedly purged the MCC, and Maybank CS is unable to retrieve the MCC. I am not sure whether this information from Maybank CS is accurate or not.

Anyway, in general, it is far easier to retrieve the MCC, from Public Bank CS and Hong Leong CS, than Maybank CS.

Which Amex card did you use, and did you obtain credit card cashback for the pin purchase transaction at the petrol station?
