wasted bandwidth
better wait forĀ  the game instead

The demo is only like 2.9 gb , hardly anything to waste on. Most modern day MMORPG have patches of that size regularly .
Doesn't hurt to try it out .

Played through the demo a little , love that support of HDR . Unfortunately there's not other setting to mess with

Game looks good but it is definitely not running on native 4k or even cb 4k , more like 1440p .
Let's hope the final build will have something to surprise us.

^ I counted 1600p-ish. Hard to pinpoint because of all that temporal AA going on.

Anyways, the annoyance I have with the game is that they reverted to that Heavy Rain style of interacting with objects. Drawing half circles or quarter circles? Ehh.
Beyond Two Souls controls were way better, hope they have an option to change to that.

First run through the demo:

Yep that's my problems with the game , the interacting sequence is clunky . 1600p is not that too bad but when they are using TAA the game looks kind of blurry at times.

Ugh looks like I was incredibly wrong and completely deceived by its post processing effects.
The game is actually running at checkerboard 4k according to Digital Foundry's analysis

The Dynamic theme from Preorder bonus

Not the most fancy theme ever , but it is relatively simple with small droid flying around , I like it

Someone has leaked the full game over youtube several hours ago , the game was beaten in about 9 hours for a single playthru (which is good for a game with hundreds of outcome ) Video is taken down now biggrin.gif

Quote from IGN :

"Though I wish its story had been handled with a softer touch, especially considering the subtlety that can be conveyed through its tech and performances, its well-written and acted central trio were vital enough to me that I found myself feeling genuine distress when they were in danger and a sense of victory when they triumphed. Most importantly, Detroit offers a multitude of transparent branching paths that entice further playthroughs, and choices have a permanence that raise the stakes throughout. "

The game looks freaking good and that is an understatement.

Game is drowning in heavy post processing effects and they run at lower resolution that's why the sky and background looks a little blurry even for the high quality TSAA . The film grains effect adds to the cinematic atmosphere . There are a lot of lightings and reflection in this game and they make a very good use of HDR , subtle and not overpowering the environment yet easily distinguishable , especially on the neon and lens flare effects .

Even on 4K screen the character and object look smooth and fluid , each of the walking character ( beside the androids )on the street have a different body shape and face , that speaks of an impressive amount of effort poured into the game. Playing the game on a 4K HDR is like eating ice cream for the eyes for graphic wh0res like me

I enjoyed the stories so far , although some of those plot twists might have been a little too predictable . A lot of daily chores to do in this game its becoming tedious .
Game made use of the DS4 's accelerometer and gyroscope a lot , along with the touch pad . Fun stuff

Damn how to go to bottom flowchart

Wait until the time is up , Anderson will be leaving the crime scene . You can convince him to give you more time but if you fail , he will be leaving , forcing you to abandon the entire case

Finally Plat the game , it took me 5 playthru +

Bad news for the achievement hunter , some of the decision that have long term impacts can only be done with a new playthrough.
You will have to redo a new game to obtain the all trophies since replaying a chapter will not have impact for the later chapters until you have gone through every chapter between them.

The complete magazine collection is also a pain in the ass since some covers are privileged for different situation , which can only be gotten from multiple playthru as well

where to get the cutter tool for kara to get into the abandoned buildings

what other decision in the laundry beside steal clothes it?

how to prevent Hank got a lead?
*
1) Steal it from the market opposite of the abandoned car parks

2) No . you either steal it , or you don't which you will be wearing the same cloth until later chapters

3 ) What lead ?

My thoughts of the game can finally be summarized :

1 ) The cinematic presentation have always been a strong point for David Cages games . This time they took it to a new height , the motion capture from these actors who portrayed the game characters are unbelievably realistic . In fact I have never seen a game with such a stunning motion capture for facial expression beside L.A Noire , in which case I think D:BH has surpassed the latter in every aspect.

2) The controls are still clunky at times . They have improved from Heavy Rain but some of those 3-4 buttons sequences are still a nuisance . I often had to cross both of my hands since some combination of 4 buttons are difficult to press (and hold ) . Outside of the cutscenes and dialogue choices , the camera control is poor and problematic . When the game require you to pinpoint to a precise location , it is often difficult to . Character movement are not very responsive either , my Connor was knocking tables all the time.

3) The writings are decent, there are some tear-jerking and heartwarming moment but if you are an analytical and logical person like me you will start to find all sort of loopholes within the plot , especially with the Androids

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

4) The android of the menu , Chloe is particularly charming and she reacts accordingly to your playtime and activities , sadly once she was released from the game there is no way to get her back.

5) The game was enjoyable for the first play through . But replaying it multiple times quickly become a frustrating chore . Many of the long chapters do not have enough checkpoints ,you often have to spend extra hours to replay the entire chapters to see different outcome. The game also hook you up with many many of those " Press X to Jason " tedious task from heavy rain .

6) Some chapters obviously had received much less attention from the dev and they are very linear such as Markus 's came back from

Kara and Alice needs to

In which case , Hank will not get a lead and head to lunch instead , the chapter " On the run " is completely forfeited.
