Honda Malaysia recalls 2014 City and 2015 Jazz over CVT control software issue – 12,329 units affected
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Honda Malaysia has announced a recall for 12,232 units of its fourth-generation City (2014 model year) and 97 units of its third-generation Jazz (2015 model year) over an issue with improper hydraulic pressure control software involving the vehicles’ continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The company says that in a situation where there is a quick stepping on and releasing of the accelerator pedal at high speed, high hydraulic pressure will cause high stress to be generated to the drive pulley shaft and may cause the shaft to be broken, resulting in the vehicle experiencing a loss of power during driving.
The exercise seeks to rectify the powertrain control module (PCM) in affected cars through a CVT software update, which contains a stress reduction software. As of today, there have been no crashes or injuries related to this issue reported in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia says it is taking this preemptive measure to ensure customer safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The company adds that aside from the specified total of vehicles, other fourth-gen City and third-generation Jazz are not affected, and neither are other current selling models
All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update. Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorised Honda dealer for inspection. Any charges related to the product update will be borne by Honda Malaysia.

It allows you to use the touch screen without looking at the phone
Which means you can control your Music and use Waze from your HU. It also works without bypass
Get the Digital AV Adapter cable, HDMI cable and connect the necessary wires to your car HU
Step 3 Pair your phone bluetooth with your car HU
Step 4 Plug in your phone to the Digital AV cable and the HDMI is connected to your car HU. At the menu, you will notice that there will be an arrow pointing to the right
Step 5 Open App Radio app
Step 6 Click on the right arrow on your HU. You will be presented with the word "connecting..."
Step 7 After few seconds, you will notice the Pioneer App Radio launcher is launched. Swipe right and you will see your Waze icon
Step 8. Click on Waze and it will switch to Waze app. First time connecting waze will prompt you a dialog asking you do you want external device control waze. Click Yes
Step 9. Waze will work and you can use the touch screen to play it.
Step 10: The moment you click the home button on your HU, it will disconnects the screen. You need to open back Waze from your phone.
With jailbreak, you can do more where the HOME BUTTON WILL WORK flawlessly.
The behavior will be as following
1) Plugged in the HDMI cable, it will auto connect to your car HU via bluetooth and AppRadio launcher will launch 2) Clicking the home button will open AppRadio launcher
Step 1: Download the honda app launcher and Pioneer AppRadio app
Step 2: Make sure you have activator installed on your phone.
Step 3: Connect to your car HU via bluetooth and HDMI
Step 3: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Bluetooth Devices. Step 3a: At Bluetooth Devices > Connected to Honda HFT. Select User Application > App Radio
Step 4: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > More Step 4a: Select Application Launch > Choose Honda Launcher
Step 5: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Application Launched Step 5a: At Launch Launcher > Choose App Radio
*optional if you always plug in charger with HDMI together
Step 6: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Power Step 6a: At Connected > Choose Switches > Bluetooth
With these steps, your HU screen home button will work and whenever you connect the Digital AV cable in your car to your phone, it will auto open AppRadio where you can jump to other AppRadio approved applications.
When you press home on your HU, it will auto launch Honda Launcher app and it will redirect to AppRadio automatically.

QUOTE(robertt @ Jan 8 2015, 10:18 AM)
I didn't snap much photo for the DIY. So, I simply draft out the DIY idea here..
First thing, buy a plug and play illuminated side step. Which I get from Sato auto acc m sdn bhd on Mudah
RM160 + RM20 postage to my place.
The side steps comes with the complete wiring and socket for our ride. Which means you no need to cut any wire. No warranty issue on this DIY. Just plug and play.
On the wiring of the side step, I tap on 2 extra bulb for the foot light (red/black wire). See the photo below.
Bought the T5 socket for the foot light bulb on eBay. Which cost me around RM5 for each of it. Then buy a wire holder from electric shop. Tied the bulb on it and put 3M double side tape behind. And ready to put below the dashboard. Oh ya, the T5 blue LED from eBay as well.
After the wiring work is done. Its time to open interior cover part by part to route the wire. Those steps I follow some tutorial on youtube. Important reminder. Be extremely careful to the handling of the retaining tabs and clips particularly.
Very simple right? hope you guys can DIY yourself a set like mine.

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jul 30 2015, 10:57 PM)
Make you check your radiator water level also like how you check your tyre pressure...
Never use tap water, mineral water, filter water, etc...
Tap water is full of calcium, magnesium and other deposits which will form scaling (like in a boiler) and reduce the heat reduction efficiency of the radiator, clogging it with deposits.
Always use Honda Coolant Type 2 which is premixed and ready to pour into your radiator... Get a bottle from Hingan for rm20+... SC won't top up with the coolant but with tap water... Your City came out from factory with this Type 2 coolant inside...

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 9 2014, 10:17 PM)
Let me help you guys know more about cars and engine oil. The reason why SC insisted on not changing the oil is because there's a reason to it. All new Honda cars are filled with a special type of engine oil from the factory. Its different from those sold in the market or SC. This type of oil are meant for new engines that requires breaking in thus the composition of chemicals, addictives etc are different.
If you guys google more, u will notice Honda USA have explanation on the 1,000km doesn't require an oil change.
I hope i gave some useful info for you guys.

City CVT Mode

QUOTE
To make it easier to understand, CVT varies between a set of ratios (Let's say 3.5 to 0.7), while for 5AT each gear has its own ratio.
D mode = All ratios is being used for maximum efficiency (For AT, which means all 5 gears can be engaged, and CVT can vary into all the given ratio)
S mode = O/D Off, for Honda 5AT you are left with 1,2,3 only since 4 and 5 are OD gear. The same goes to CVT (which means the ratio range is now reduced to 3.5 to 1.0) hence dubbed as sport mode since with shorter ratio your rpm stays higher, and shorter ratio (lower gear) means more responsive throttle, and also better traction. It is like how you would go to lower gear on slope/going down hill/taking a corner.
L mode = Only the initial ratio (means only first gear for AT, first ratio range for CVT) used only for heavy towing or you are really going down a super slope
by ZeroSP
QUOTE
Yes, if you going up genting and you want easier time, put it to S mode. And going down hill the same also, you will want to use the lower gear ratio range in S mode.
I dunno what car you drive before but to sum it up.
D mode = D mode just like any car
S mode = O/D off in most general automatic car, or some car marked as D3 (As I have seen in Kelisa), cause their D is D4.
L mode = Same like normal L mode
Maintaining CVT and its performance, install a CVTF cooler (normally referred as ATF cooler, but since this is not an AT, I call it CVTF cooler), it works the same just to cool down your transmission fluid.
And for Honda, use the premium CVTF from Japan instead of normal grade CVTF from Singapore. The premium is called HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid) that comes in 4 litre can and cost 2x of normal CVTF. Many claims they are the same, but I tell you no, it is far different. I have used the HMMF for the my home old City, the ATF-DW1 Ultra for my sister's City, and also the MTF-3 Ultra for my bro's FD2R. All Japan version have superior response, especially in the CVT and AT, since for MT the gear change smoothness depends on your clutch control.
Note: The new City CVT is paired with Torque Converter, therefore I am not sure whether HMMF or the HCF-2 should be used as I do not own the new City. Kindly refer to your manual book.

latest project, successfully mirror the image using wireless connection from my hp to V spec HU. BTW, this is my 2nd attempt using a HDMI wifi dongle manufactured by different company. solution, need a dongle that support low resolution (most dongle in our market only support high resolution) & using built-it miracast function in my new hp. damaged, rm100 for a wifi dongle & rm279 for Asus Zenfone4 hp. easy to setup, plug n play. connection stable & smooth without any problem. no need to use HDMI, MHL or Apple Digital AV cable anymore.. :-)
dongle original location..
i hide the dongle behind the dashboard, beside the passengger legroom using an ext hdmi cable..
tachlio Please update content related to VNC or Honda Link. currently I was able to get it work by using MirrorLink function that only support few smartphone. Please refer to this : https://cert.mirrorlink.com/Productlisting/ If your phone is listed, then is MirrorLink capable.
Only using Data USB Cable, normally comes with phone box. Thanks.

If you release your handbrake, still can see handphone's content on the HU's screen ?
guys how much to upgrade the city V spec HU to the one with navigator and reverse camera?
Reverse camera juz an add on ...existing v spec HU can support ...gps use waze mirror link it ...
If u mean add on gps inside v spec HU , should be RM1k+..warranty void for HU of course
*added* emergency brake 50km/h at federal highway due to own reckless , double load limiter seat belt hold me nicely in my seat . No chest pain at all...

I plan to get V spec, tinting, leather seat, and speedlock (OBD) do outside. should have no problem with service centre rite?
so far anybody DIY and warranty void by sc?
OBD and tint should not be a problem.but not leather seat. advisable not to change seat as existing seat is design to protect driver during an accident.
so if u change seat , i think things relate to airbag etc is no more warranty . ur side airbag in ur existing seat is wasted , as it cannot put inside ur leather seat if not mistaken...
hey guys planning to take city e spec but wan to change the radio to lcd multimedia as well require support reverse camera and mirror link with smart phone or gps ,budget under 1.5k ,any recommend ?

One thing I don't like to use the Honda's touch screen for Waze is that you need to ON your phone and your phone will get pretty hot in 10mins. If you keylock the phone, WAZE is not functional anymore. I just stick the car phone holder at the side of screen and let one air cond blower facing the phone to cool it while using WAZE.
anyone who is upgrading their bodykit or modding their cars? i WTB 2014 city original front grill, full chrome. mine cracked beyond repair, so if anyone is letting go, pls pm me.

I called HM..they say not all 2014 cars are affected...i got my car in sep 2014..surprisingly, they told my car is not affected by the call back..try calling HM and confirm on ur plate no.

Notification letter still in the process, they haven't got the software update from Japan
I drive like Fernando Alonso for whole year already...hope no lasting damage done
hahaha! Damage also covered under warranty ma.. but still touch wood la.. they are acting slow, honestly, i think they already found out about this defect earlier on which explains why some of the 2014 cars are not affected. I am happy that my car is not affected thou.
Looking for a V spec city for my wife, the dilemma is the GPS part
memang can add GPS into the pre-existing V spec HU??
My wife not keen to use the mirror-ing function.. as phone is not that reliable, eg no more data, no gps signal, phone no battery etc, wire rosak.. etc
Not too keen to spend another rm3k+ for the upgraded ori honda multimedia system+navigator
so, any 3rd party can do it all? mirror+gps+bluetooth+reverse camera? another option.. is to get a standalone gps.. any idea?

according to a fellow member from GM6 Society Malaysia, only one software update arrived in malaysia, his car is the first to be updated, he mentioned that the software are unique and only can be use on 1 car, so, for those who're affected, keep waiting la~

Guys, I'm using iPhone 6plus with iOS9.1 but was unable to mirror Waze to my City HU. I've follow the instruction in 'Tips and Tricks" section n use App Radio app n the HU was able to connect to my phone but the HU screen show the blank wallpaper with no apps and I can't swipe the HU blank screen. Anyone facing the same issue n has solution? Thanks
update: I was able to install "SmartphoneConnection" app and can install some of the application in the app. Only after installation of the application in the app that the application will show on HU. However, i can't install the navigation app as it says it is not available in Malaysian store. Still can't use Waze though

We only can install SG or Thai version hondalink navigation not the USA version.
If not mistaken, the latest verson of waze does not able to mirror into HU. I forgotten where I got this information already.
goshh......then how u guys mirror other navigation apps on the HU? I tried the method from "Tips & Tricks" section of this thread but failed to install the navigation apps.

the dot dot dot area memang cannot stick one.. mine 3m also same. basically tint film cant stick on that part.. so if u go back, they would probably just cut out the dot2 part.

If they're good at what they are doing, pretty sure they won't damage your windscreen. Mine done under Llumar and they removed the tint from that portion of the glass already when the car was delivered to me

Thanks for the feedback . What if you increase the engine speed to 4,500rpm, will the vehicle's speed increase proportionally?
Hopefully 4,500r.p.m. would give you not less than 180km/h, despite less power at the wheel, but in return, it's going to contribute to better fuel efficiency when cruising at that speed.

i pay for my car instalment and wont drive like that to damage my TB and CVT...highest 160km/h for few times only ...\
cruising at 180km/h with 4.5k RRP wont give u better FC ...u want better FC, drive around 120km/h with 2.5k RRP....that will give u good FC

u can drive at this speed , but bear in mind u will damage ur TB real soon , probably in less than 5yrs.... ur engine and cvt will wear faster ...
OIC, good to know that and thanks for the advice.
Are you told by the Honda after sales service staff that by constantly driving at 160km/h or higher, the transmission will prone to failure? Is this a known issue on this model?

it is not a known issue or wat. common sense ....not to say prone to failure , higher wear and tear ...
Cruise at whatever speed u think is best...u have 5 years warranty...after 5 years sell off. Nothing to worry. Just don't get others into accident if it happens

I've actually found a very simple way to mirror everything on my iphone to HU. It's right in front of me but some bugs in the HU firmware make me thought it is not functioning. You don't need to install any apps for this to work. What you need to do is as follow:
1. Power off your HU by pressing the power button on the top right of the HU and power it on again. 2. Connect your iphone to the HU HDMI port with Lightning Digital AV adapter. 3. Choose HDMI as the input mode from your HU screen. 4. DONE! In less than 5 seconds, your iphone screen is mirror to the HU. 5. For any reason that the HU can't detect your iphone, just power off and power on the HU then repeat step 2-4 above.
*The only cons for this method is that you can't control your iphone via HU. You will need to use iphone to swipe, select, pinch, etc. The HU is just like a normal TV.

1k or 1 month, which ever come 1st, over a lil bit also never mind one, 1k just inspection, no need change anything
I didn't know there is a potential transmission damage when the car is set to cruise at more than 160km/h.
I had bad experience of driving at around 120km/h, well, I actually fell asleep
Have you had any experience of driving at speed faster than 160km/h? May I know what is the engine speed beyond 160km/h?

Hey bro, u are driving a B segment city car. I won't really think u should drive more than 160km/h in stock configuration. This car with CVT just don't mean to be used like that. Go for at least C segment if that is your driving style. Don't risk yourself and other road users. Drive safe bro.

I bring my city to service for 1k while im still on 700km. Due to going to out station. No problem at all. Just a normal checking
v-spec, no particular petrol preference as long as RON95.
fully highway 100-120kmh, ECON mode OFF, manage to clocked >600km per full-tank, 17-18km/L.
on Penang city drive, a lot jams and traffic light, ECON mode OFF, only manage to clocked 300-400 per full-tank, 11-12 km/L
ECON mode ON or OFF doesn't make much difference on fuel consumption, but the POWER-feel hugh difference...LOLOL
I never try off my econ mode off yet. Let me try with econ mode on with full tank and see how much it goes. Now driving for 80km and drop 2 bar. With Ron 95
haha ... thanks, this is how i persuade myself... haha
I knw airbags serve their purpose.. but sometimes they can be dangerous if deployed at inappropriate time.. so I think no need to be so particular about the number of airbags.. just drive safely..

If you off ECON mode, do you feel the car jerking? Normally it happen when stuck in jam, press the accelerate pedal from 0-15 then straight let go the pedal(Because need to break). I can feel the car will jerk badly, just like a manual car slowing down but did not press on the clutch.
When my 1k service complained, they help me reset the system, within 2 weeks is okay, after that the problem came back. However my car millage is 6k+ now.
For additional, I've drove my friend car V spec and my car is E spec, the alloy 15" rim is more heavier than the 16" V spec sport rim. Does this affect the jerking issue also?
Based on own experience, turn on Eco mode on highways will save more fuel. If use Eco mode for city drive will be very stressful and consume more petrol as rev is always high but car is accelerating really slow. But if you don't mind the super slow acceleration then maybe it's ok to leave it on.

I always think that a car with many or advanced safety features requires a driver with relevant knowledge in mind.. airbags are SUPPLEMENTARY restraint system ( SRS ) which only work best along with the seat belt.. when u still see majority of rear passengers in malaysia don't use seat belts, and they dunno the necessity to maintain a safe distance from the airbags, airbags may instead pose a risk of injuries to them.. not to say side and curtain airbags not important, but our people road safety awareness still have to be improved a lot in order to really appreciate the use of the airbags.. btw no offense..

Well, thats true. Alot of Malaysian people have little knowledge about airbags. I see some people dont wear seat belts and assume the airbag will save them. If anything happens, the passenger will receive a punch from the airbag before flying out from the windscreen. Some people even put the baby seats in the front passenger seat without deactivating the airbag. When questioning them, they replied no worries coz they are driving slowly and with cautious. What if other cars come and crash their car, the airbag will still ignite! Really speechless sometimes..

QUOTE(nordingh @ Nov 4 2015, 03:09 PM)
LOL... Because I live in the middle of the city, how I going to use the highway.
Most of the time I also WFH, no need to drive outside the city, can save money on tolls.
Anyway.. this is mixed city and highway (also jam that time) in the last few days.
Haha.. almost the same. In the city figure, same with the 1 i travel to work during weekday. But weekend, when i traveled around KV to Subang, MV or Dsara then sometime can get 16km/l or more
QUOTE(lil_flank @ Nov 4 2015, 03:49 PM)
Luckily our city have the irritating sealt belt reminder. I use this excuse to tell my in laws to wear seat belts.
Yea.. and i also always forgot to put down my handbrake, luckily also got warning on that ^^ So now, no need to drag the handbrake for long distance liao haha
Argh...thank you so much. Feel so relieved after reading your replies Later i go and check again
eh, the tint shop i went said cannot.. scared later will spoil the things or something haha. So the 1 you went must be really skillful Haha.. almost the same. haha at 1st, also same. Because i was wearing seatbelt, so impossible it's the seatbelt warning. So nowadays, i knew it is the handbrake.

By the way, nice avatar
thanks i myself have used cutter blade on the edges of the windscreen, as long as you don't push too hard on the blade, it'll be fine, worst case scenario, you remove the black color coating on the windscreen

Now that explained on why those tint staffs dare to use cutter blade to cut the tint film off. Thank you so much

I don't care about the FC already, no way for me to get better FC during the weekdays.
I also like the seat belt sound, it's remind me about the safety. My previous car don't have it.
The handbrake sound also really help me a lots cos sometime I forgot to release.
The only annoying things, I can't lock the car from outside when engine is running.
how i wish to have lane assist on our City ... good for me as i travel outstation quite frequent ....
Buy the new civic....
QUOTE(LaVilla. @ Nov 4 2015, 05:36 PM)
Yea...i expect the FC to be better since this car is EEV certified 1.
Then is there other people inside the car? Because i think for safety purpose la. It will be more troublesome if we lock our key inside the car right? same here. In europe already a mandatory requirement to score 5 stars. So, we may need to wait for few years to get it.
Hopefully, Honda Malaysia will not strip off all these features from the new civic when it released here in 2017
There is someone inside the car, but most of the time my son and my wife sit at the back, so hard for them to reach the lock at front door to lock the door when I stop for a while to go to bank or shop.
My previous car, I just lock using the door handle from outside and when I back to the car I use spare key inside my purse to open the door. Very useful during long distance trip because most of the time the passenger goes to hibernate mode until reach the destination.

I see. Seem like you have to bring a spare key if you lazy to take out the remote in the full cover.
Guys, i have a question, why my car have to discharge from honda only can fill in e hak milik? My colleague told me that new car doesnt need to discharge since its new.
Does anyone of your read the news regarding "Honda Malaysia recalls 2014 City and 2015 Jazz over CVT control software issue – 12,329 units affected"? Honda Malaysia said that "All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update.".
Anyone your car get affected? Does you get the letter from Honda Malaysia?
Guys, Found tht water went thru inside behind right passenger side during just now heavy rain.. Checked carpet and car floor are wet...really ignoring... If want to switch stations, how? Got no physical memory buttons for radio channels?
push the select button when on FM, there're 6 options in the preset list, forgot how to save a station already
***
checked, you can save a total of 12 stations in the hu, there are FM 1 and FM 2, each containing 6 slots in it's preset list, to save a station, simply tune to the correct frequency, push the select button once, turn to the slot you want (1~6), then push and hold the select button for 3~5 seconds ie: 1.tune to 101.8 2.push select button 3.select slot 4.push select button (3~5 seconds)
Can bring remote out, leave engine running n use the key to lock the door
u can just take the key with u and leave ur remote inside car...but usually i take the remote out with me...the car just beep few times if engine running without the remote...

Even it is 2.55% for 7 years loan also considered high. Reason is you apply for RM80k loan which in turn pay more interest to them.
Dear all, Mind to share with me what phone you are using if you connect to the 7" HU with bluetooth for phone functions? I managed to paired my Redmi Note, but somehow it won't connect. I may need to buy a new phone, but I don't want to get expensive phone. Any recommendation for phones that works with the car bluetooth phone function and also support MHL HDMI?

Go for iPhone 5 and above. Sure can connect properly.

lol...bro, simple maths in 2 senarios:
Senario 1: 80K for 2.55% for 7yrs -----> total interest incurred is approx. 14K
Senario 2: u wan save a little interest so dump in extra 15K so 80K - 15K = RM65K 65K interest for 7yrs will be 2.7% (around that) so total interest incurred is approx. 12K
U save 2K over 7yrs by dumping in extra RM15 while never think of investing the RM15 in other investment which could bring u return more than 2K Anyway, if ur too rich and dun mind to throw in the additional 15K to save the 2K over 7yrs then that's another story la

I did apply to CIMB, Maybank, Public Bank, Bank Islam, Hong Leong. Most of them rejected my application or only approve 65% of my loan amount. Because I got ASB Loan Commitment already.
So only Ambank willing to give me 90% loan, so just take it la since no other choice.

Hi, just curious, what is your DSR including ASB loan, excluding the new car loan?
So how often do you guys wipe down/wash your cars? The recent week of rain has not been all that helpful in keeping the car looking clean. >_>
As for FC, I've been trying to keep it (based on the meter in the car) above 12.0 km/l. Also been refuelling full tank every chance I get (every weekend or so). This is after the car is showing me that there's like 2 bars of fuel left.
Anyone using the special windscreen applications like RainX or something?
Is this normal?should I send back to honda to adjust it?
My car is e spec, can I change my car CD player to v spec hu? Steering Bluetooth and volume still function ?need modify anything and void warranty o not?thanks.

I wash my car when the dirt is too much (no specific time frame) haha. You are correct, the recent daily rain doesn't help. I'm using RainX, it's quite good especially when you are driving in the highways, you can really see the repelling effect.

1. not sure... never use.. only use BT for call. 2. Only work with iphone 3. yes can... Waze on phone, song on HU.
So far for waze apps on hu is provided by pioneer brand, high line model got.. need to install appradio and install waze.. so far no standalone hu comes with waze.. so best way is get a good car phone grip and put use your phone lor.. waiting for future hu model tht support standalone waze apps without having phone links to it - no mirror link, no cables, no phone required then..
Booked steel metallic V spec today (penang), would only know when to get my car on early December. Coming Friday will drop by the sales office to check out the leather seat sample, would go for it if the quality is good. Leather seat cost RM3K, worth it?

kacau ?? maybe just some minor rattle noise from door panel or dashboard (CKD Malaysia assembly memang can't expect high)
Engine performance, handling wise, fuel consumption, so far so good for me

I own both the city v spec n preve turbo(same as suprima except with boot). My comment is: City minor rattling sound here n there, handling below expectation probably due to stock tyre n rim width. Use less fuel as it is 1500cc with eco mode. Preve turbo: more pwerful engine, good handling due to multi link suspension n wider rim, burn more fuel due to the turbo. Besides the normal monor issue of weird sound here and there, the preve n suprima are having cvt gearbox non reliability problem. U can check out at their forum. Happy with the car except the gearbox.

Just called the car accessories shop and the boss told me that it's normal that the LED didn't turn off (just turn abit dim) if u press the button on the pillar. Reason is that new car has a timer where the LED will auto off if u start ur engine or if u close and lock ur door. Well, i guess he made his point as i already installed the LED door step since last week so if it really drain battery, mine already dead long ago Anyway, remember when u hop into ur car, dun drag too long to start ur engine or forgot to lock ur car as LED will illuminated and drain ur battery
I actually bought the set of 4 LED door step from TaoBao for RMB98 (around RM67). It can be self install as it's very simple.

Engine off and door open, you see bright light.
Engine off and door close, will dim a little. will dim and off after 15 minutes if not lock the car. Off if lock the car.

Remote kong, open wit key then alarm triggered then u hav to key in the unique code given to every city, it's a 4 digit numeric code n u should have it. Tis will deactivate the alarm
The LED door step I bought is pretty much plug n play. All I need to do is to join all the 4 small sockets from each LED panel into a another big socket then the big socket into the factory-ready pin hole at fuse box there. N of course need to peel off the 3M double side tape to stick all 4 LED door step la

Thanks haha bro. I am getting an E Spec, so if i want to have reverse camera, should i just change the HU r add on some normal camera with screen?
It depends on ur budget bro. Personally, i prefer changing the HU (whether to honda ori or OEM HU) then install the reverse camera la. I saw someone post in this topic tat OEM HU for 2014 City cheapest is RM700 while honda ori V spec HU another forumer selling for RM1k++.

Manage to check out the leather seat that wrap by so called Honda KAH motor owned accessories division, looks classy, feel comfort and able to bring City up to higher class. I would definitely go for it, it cost RM3K include all the seats, arm rest for front/rear and door panel as well. No concern for air bag as it has separate package for E and V spec
You mean light in circle! Yes, if you know the which wire to connect.
I saw last few months the switch similar to V Spec on sale in thai forum but I can't find it now.
yes.. this the light.. the E spec do not have one..
I have manage to modify my audio controls to V spec just like original and no wire cutting...
the players of s+ and e spec are the same... honda do not even recognise it...
my next one research would be the speedometer and the panel for fork lights indicators.. looks like plug and play...
I recall v spec got temperature reading? that termometer is located ard the push start buttons.. push start can be created outside..
I know many E spec owners wanted to know whether the touch panel for aircorn would work in E spec? try scout the scrapped honda city .. if you are interested..

pu are generally the best for bodykits, ori honda ones are pu, abs 1 should cost within 1k, pu anywhere from 1k to 1.3k
Yea, pu if want paint easy you need scratch is with sand paper

With regards to max. speed, manufacturer claimed figure is 190km/h, I didn't know your vehicle can go faster than the claimed figure. If going downhill, I think any car is faster.

Just make a booking late last week for E spec with total discount of ~ RM5.6k. Agent help to submit loan application (RM70k) to 3 banks - PBB, Affin and MBB. Just got a call from Affin bank this morning asking for details, and the bank officer stating interest rate should be around 2.6%. Will wait and see.
I only got 4.7k disc from my SA. No other free gift. Usually how much commission do they get for each car. I tot only rm1k. So when he give me commision of rm700. I tot that's ok already
6.1 k discount E spec. free smart tag and full tank. Waiting loan approval now.
You got a great deal!

I was told that sales agent commission is ~ 0.9% of the car price (higher for S spec if not mistaken) - so the RM700 commission you mentioned is about right. On top of that there are other commission for the branch or manager that they can pass on to the customer as well.
Hi guys.i have been following this thread quite some time as i am interested to get a city.when is the next facelift expected for city?and is it possible to put the drl xenon light as its similar model honda grace in japan?

No news on that. But if the rumors are correct that we re getting the facelift like the China version. I would prolly skip coz the rear design looks so ugly to me. You can mod the light but do it at ur own risk coz it's definitely void warranty.

Where u done these? reverse camera rm190 + harness rm60 handbrake bypass rm30 car seat gap rm18 locktech 3yrs war rm350
during my 1k service, I chit chat with SA and asked about warranty void situation, few things he shared with me...
example.. 1. changing rim will void warranty for brake system including ABS 2. using outside Tint will void warranty for rubber trim around the windows and windscreen water leaking issue. 3. using 3rd party brake pad will void warranty for disc lining issue 4. car seat will void warranty for airbag system
i do not really trust him but this is just an heads up to you guys,., different SC treat differently I guess... l

1. handbrake bypass - U.H Car Accessories Sdn Bhd (Setapak) buy this one first, and install during no#2
2. reverse camera with installation rm190 + harness rm60 (WWF Auto Bandar permaisuri cheras) make sure you request bypass socket (harness) for camera. Otherwise they will tap the original socket. and during camera installation, you can ask them to help you install handbrake bypass FOC. Cucuk socket je.
bought a set of 4 pcs for less than rm10 on mudah, screwed up 2 pcs while try to stick it on, end up buying original honda ones

1. PU bodykit installed at A.K.A CAR ACCESSORIES & BODY KITS (sri muda shah alam) run by a group of young malay friends, was very satisfied with their service. please be aware that the material for ducktail spoiler is ABS. not PU. the rest of bodykits are PU material.. 1week before I installed, I went to this shop and survey, they showed me differences between fiber vs PU vs ABS. 1year warranty for paint. Paint brand is nippon (not kansai japan). installation time less than 30mins.
2.cargo tray rm 6x you can check with WWF Auto Accessories bandar sri permaisuri
does your OBD function differently, please share.. the shop i went said this to me that new city only follow P or D
There are a few types of way to autolock works for city depending on module bought. No doubt most in the market is P unlock D lock
But maybe the shop u went only sell that hence he told u that .
P.s if saying all works the same later skme other foryner simple buy from mudah or etc might not get what they thought it is . best to askthe shop or guy u r buying from to double confirm how the obd lock u r buying works

bro really i am also interested to know if there is different type of OBD. please share if you are sure there is different type. i hate this P or D
my previous city 2008 model has different method...speedlock - auto lock once i hit 20kmh i also hate my kelisa - auto lock when press brake.
Actually I like the kelisa lock where press brake or >20kmh will auto- lock.
Just imagine u are lady driver and driving alone, the first thing you got into car is press the brake to push-start the engine and auto-lock your door. (engine start + door lock)
Because some ladies after get into their car like to mess with this and that before driving off, and they often forgot to lock their doors.
By installing D-lock P-unlock doesn't help at all as these ladies just start the engines and not driving off yet (gear position still P, not D). This small interval of time is enough to let the strangers quickly open your car door, get into the car n rob you + your car altogether.

I bought from sg pinang, and i heard that, they keep all cars inside a big building behind the showroom, that means ur car is not under the sun while waiting for you.
not sure for other branch but what i know perodua car is exposed under sun and very dirty before it is sold.
the car i collected doesnt have gap issues, both driver side and handbrake, mayb im lucky.. haha

same same only, before the car is shipped / transported to the dealer / showroom, the factory in melaka store them on an open field (PDI centre), without any roof, either way, your car has been under the sun for a certain period of time before it's delivered

all new city follow above regardless OBD brand, type, etc
bro, OBD has nothing to do with any brand, it stands for "On Board Diagnostics" It's a diagnostics port that most of the new cars have for mechanics to communicate with car system where they can program some parameters into your car system. Your statement of "all new city follow above regardless OBD brand, type, etc" is incorrect Different brand might have different methods of locking the car by sending pre-programmed signals through the OBD port to your car system to tell the system when and how the door should be lock

Hi all, those seat got loose is it normal? For driver, we can adjust seat height... When I adjust lowest, cross speedbump fast I can feel the seat move like not locked tightly.. If I adjust the seat to quite high position it won't have this issue..
With regards to max. speed, manufacturer claimed figure is 190km/h, I didn't know your vehicle can go faster than the claimed figure. If going downhill, I think any car is faster.
Off course can go faster. 190km/h is the cut off enabled in the ECU. Someone already tried, he can go up to 210km/h but drop to 190km/h because of the cut off. Some performance shop can disabled or bypass the cut off but not cheap. I don't think need to do also, you won't drive more than 190km/h everyday. Dangerous too.

EM327 is just the adapter to connect phone/computer to the car ECU.

Good to know it's working. It's useful since there is no temperature gauge on the car. Any custom PID for this vehicle?

I saw a video showing 210kmh and drop to 190kmh posted in the FB group.
Never try custom. Only use whatever Torque Pro can detect. I use to monitor coolant temperature and battery voltage. Still not finalized the setup to use, just tested on 4 of my hp.
Anyone know whether V spec HU can support 2 RCA input? Currently I use 1 RCA for reverse camera so wondering if there is another RCA input to support my DVR.
A new owner of city..feel steering is very light and dont feel heavy during high speed? Any way to improve this?
Yes very light because you new with the car.. Soon you can get use to it.
I drove few cars which is hand-powered, hydraulic, electronic and even 4 wheeler. City is the lightest but after 1 year, for me all almost the same (except the hand-powered).

RCA for reverse camera follow the R gear. If you want to add 1 more, you can add the handbrake bypass which have the RCA input. You get extra input - AUX/Video. Normal got 8 input, after install got 9 input.

For V Spec HU, movie or hdmi or screen mirroring or mirrorlink only have video/pic when handbrake is pull. When release the handbrake, only can hear sound. The bypass is too 'bypass' the handbrake detection so HU will always have video/pic. Can enjoy movie while on long journey.
Some people said no needed to bypass but for me or especially for family guys, movie will keep the whole family entertain in the car (except for the driver).

haha i'm sorry to hear that buddy, i went there wearing just tshirt and jeans, not sure how i 'looked'. but the SA that i got was a helpful, youthful person. maybe it's just your luck

Tht's why they can only be a salesman.
I have been to few continentals ans parked my EX5 bike in front of their showroom and purposely pointing at my bike and ask them if it's OK to park right there, were OK.
But went to one of the Japanese, once that fellar heard me saying I came with bike, the way he speaks seemed different.
Next time, I think I might have to go with my granny's bicycle and park right in front of the showroom and let them think you can't afford.
Primary school level people, they normally have this kinda attitude.
using lowest position, feel loose also when thru speedbump
same here , from lowest i need pump the height up around 4 times only wont feel loose when thru speed bump.. any other user has same prob? only feel that during lowest position.. if go slowly wont have this prob maybe cause did not vibrate much.. if around 20 - 30kmph will feel it.. not sure what is loose
original post is asking on "seat feel loose when go thru speed bump in mid speed.. "
Lol is it real? i tested 195 so far, not dare to go faster... 210 in earlier post said it will go back to 190? if its cut by ECU why will go beyond 190 and drop it back

I used to drive saga aeroback which also have power steering, before i got my city, when I drove my bro myvi 2015, i felt the steering very light, but now, i feel that myvi steering is so heavy.. so, you will used to the steering soon, haha

this is no possible at all... if the steering is so heavy , it will affect driving experience....
they can reduce the eps assistance with speed. Make it feels heavier than a myvi at least? 😐

look weird... when cruising at this speed and high rpm, the km/l indicator on the right (0 to 30) all lit up indicate that using less fuel
and 3 of its sensor light up, check engine, steering, and skid? lol
Btw i saw alot complaint in honda fb adv.. all bash about sensor aftre few month, rattling and gap issue . .
Cruising at >220km/h ? Of course most sensor light up, to warn u ....check engine and steering light up is normal , as the engine too hot .eps light up to warn u on high speed cruising high possibility to crash la

Over speed and high RPM but why KM/L indicator there shows max fuel economy?

Although written is free, but recommended by SC to change engine oil. Before change, i notice that the engine cover is damn hot after driving, however, after change the engine oil, the engine cover is noticeable cooler compare to before changing
I think the same, but i feel the difference for changing the oil. SC told the oil given when car delivered from factory using the cheapest oil. I tot i kena con, but i felt the difference. Besides that, I not sure is it applicable for Honda, engine breaking in may produce some tiny metal, that might damage the engine. So, no harm for buying an insurance.
The SC conned you to change engine oil. Think about it, can the cheapest engine oil be use for 10,000km? Mineral oil which is the cheapest is recommended to be changed at 5,000km.
The factory oil is special blend to run in the engine for the first 10,000km...
Why should I wait to change the oil the first time? Your Honda engine was delivered with an oil that is specially formulated for new engines that have not yet developed their "natural" wear patterns and may contain minute particles from the manufacturing process.
American Honda strongly recommends this special oil be left in the engine long enough for these wear patterns to develop, usually until the first maintenance interval specified in your Owner's Manual, based on your specific driving conditions.

got business ma , somemore honda SC is 3rd party agent , not by HMSB , how they know ? LOL... hit 10k in 3months time , changed 0-20 , performance still same ...dont feel any increase in performance also.
anyway , its up to u .... there is something called oil filter ... etc ...
