easiest way to check, drive on straight road, see if the car will go sideways or not, or if steering wheel will vibrate when driving, most likely just affect alignment nia
2k / 2.5k over insured dy, outside cost like 700+, sc at most only 1.5k, lu punya sa manyak commision sudah, lol
*
shall call to honda SC to check on pricing later ... prefer original windscreen

if alignment problem, car go sideways,
if rim deformed, steering wheels vibrate,
if worry, just send for balancing and alignment lor

If water has entered engine, the engine oil color will become muddy. U can drain a bit engine oil and check the color. If it is dark but clear, then normal. But if muddy, then water has entered. Need to change.
*
It's dark but clear .not muddy

Try to check again after a week. If still clear, you're good.
*
Alright . thanks for the tips.it's 4th day since the incident .

I only checked thru engine oil dip , didn't drain it . how to drain it ? Unplug the oil filter ?

Gotta Jack up the car, and drain from underneath the engine. Or go to SC and ask them to do it.

I'm not sure if can detect from dipstick, unless very muddy
*
Guess have to go outside workshop to do it .quite troublesome to do at SC

Hi Guys,

I am about to get my new honda city car.
I want to ask about tinting. Need your guys valuable opinion.

Should I get the tinting done by Honda Dealer that cost Rm1500 (3M / Ecotint) or should I opt to go outside to do the tinting? Thanks.
*
It's up to u . there is no right and wrong .

Yea..but the SA further commebt that he hv 3 customer cnt claim bcs of this issue. Really feel cheated. sad.gif. Btw how much u do your tint??
*
i only spent about RM600+ on tint . raytech . entry level tint only ...

i dont believe a thin layer of tint will spoil power window .unless u opt for 10mil tint ...normal 4mil tint wont do any harm to it

Guys thank you for your reply. My SA didn't mention that is a must to get the tinting from them. She gave me an option whether to get the tint from them or go outside. If I go outside for tinting she would give me a tinting rebate voucher of RM500 for tinting with their authorize tint shop. But no discount for tinting from Honda.

But if I want a ease of mind. I guess I might get the tinting from Honda.  hmm.gif
*
Call to the tint shop, ask them if they will remove the door cover . most of them will not remove door cover.btw, there is no authorise tint shop ..lol...

Changed my engine oil at outside workshop. Total damage RM205 with 0-20w Honda engine oil, oil filter and drain plug . the outside workshop only charged rm20 for labor..pity only .need to remove the underneath cover which was quite troublesome .

The workshop sucked the engine oil into a machine , and the water entered into the engine is quite minimal ... Can saw some bubble on top of the engine oil . quite lucky . phew... Need to change engine oil again on next service which is another 4k km .

Any SC also the same. Wait lah, if you really got problem, they have every right to reject your warranty claim. You go service of course they keep quiet....you give business to them. laugh.gif
*
Well, I have to wait then . not that my car submerge into water . don't think will have any problems in this 5yrs .

Btw, if u don't have any constructive comment , better don't comment ...lol

You touch wood then nothing happen lor.

Not constructive? Like you give wrong advice is constructive? Read the warranty fine prints. It applies to all car manufacturers.

If you don't know what you're talking, better don't post and mislead other users.

Oops...ok.then I better buy flood insurance . anyway , my piston and piston ring is alright . that's more important . engine part not that worry as not much water entered into and I changed the eo alredi .

I still do my service at SC ,juz that I changed oil outside earlier due to last week incident only

The way u replied is very sarcasm and made ppl worrysome.

May i know how they check the water has entered the engine and your piston & piston ring was ok? I am interested to know coz i drove through a flood a few months ago. There was some jerking after i drove through the flood. After a while, it was ok.
*
They suspected only . for piston and piston ring , they need to take out the intake manifold ,which is the plastic cover with Honda VTEC wording and u can see the piston there already . they told me it's in good condition , no bent nothing . if there was some jerking , sure got some water went into ur engine already . it won't be much . but u need to drain the engine oil ASAP .

Mine probably more than urs .

I see. I met two flood incidents. One was mid last year and the other was early this year. I wasn't aware of the risk that the water may entered the engine therefore i didnt took any actions, haihz..
I just went 20,000km servicing last month. It includes changing engine oil. I believe they already drain the engine oil and refill a new one. I think abit late already.
*
If that's the case , never mind already . coz the water entered might be very little . won't do any major damage. Don't worry .

Only locktech . didnt use others .more importantly, don't park at secluded area.
