Hi all...
My loan for C200 (2019) (W205) Pre-Reg unit has been approved 2days ago.
But I still can't decide wheather to top up that RM40K for C300 AMG Line instead...
I'm awared of all the differences here.
I heard some ppl mention about C200 has engine problem with that mild-hybrid (EQ Boost)?
Many has this problem?
Hope can get some advice before I made my final decision...thank you very much.

For me the biggest differences is the Air suspension in C300 .Can’t live without it after experience it . Other than that is like engine response (0-100 5.9 sec vs 7.7 sec) , 18 inch rim vs 19 inch rim , 360 surround view camera with many sensor easy to cross very narrow road with visuality (once detect nearby have something surround view camera will auto start and show ) etc . Definitely worth for 40k

Air suspension and the 19" rim might look and feel good for the short term. But having driven one for 3 years+, there can be some long-term negative effects in terms of maintenance.

First of all, the 19" rim is very low profile, meaning it is more prone to puncturing or bulging when going over even small potholes or objects on the road.
& changing the tyres for this rim isn't cheap at all. About RM 1k per tyre. Some more when 1 side tyre spoil, you gotta change both some more to maintain good alignment and ride feel etc.
Also, do note that front set tyre and rear set tyres are different so can't switch anytime like other cars.
But of course there's no denying that the 19" rim is a looker!

Another thing is the maintenance of the air suspension is gonna cost you quite a lot especially after it's warranty period.
I heard it's about RM 10k per tyre if you gotta change it.
Ride comfort though I think it may better, but I can't really feel the difference personally. I think the suspension system can increase height, decrease height all those are just too complicated and too prone to failing.
Rather have something less complicated but more reliable and cost efficient in repairing too.

These are my experience with owning a C350e for the last few years so I'm just sharing with you.
Few more things to consider that the salesman may not share with you before you decide on which model to go with.

Either way, looking forward to welcome you as a C class owner!

Gone through 2  sets of RFTs. They're pretty much the same as normal tyres if  you ask me. Lasted just as long as normal tyres. Used both pirelli and continetal RFTs, just as long as you check your tyre pressure periodically and dont go crashing into potholes there shouldnt be any reason why it would fail on you.

I'm one of the unlucky ones that have gone thru 6-7 tyres within 40K KM all because of potholes and random things on the road causing my tyre to completely puncture. Can't even refill the holes like normal tyres. Once punctures confirm bulging making the tyre useless.

With my experience so far RFT seems very unreliable thinking if I should change to normal tyres next time and have a run with it. But high risk because our car doesnt have any spare tyres

Thanks! Got another question - the interior rear view mirror? Is it adjusted manually or electronically? If the former where is the button? Mine’s a C300 coupe but I would suspect this is standard across the range?

It's manual. Just gotta use more strength to adjust it compared to other cars. At first I thought got button also since can barely adjust it lol

Hi, did anyone install a dash cam and must it be the original ones from MBM to keep the warranty?

If not, any recommendations?

Thanks.

Nah no such thing. Just use a normal one will do. I'm currently using 70mai brand not bad
