Contrary to some reports,(read: NEOGaffers at www.neogaf.com), that MY Hack doesnt work, i have just tested it again, and purchased yet another USD30 worth of 3000 Wii Points, bringing my tally back to 9700 Wii Points. Trust me NEOGaffers, it works! AND oh, if you do link to this trick, please oh please give me credit. wink.gif

For the convinience of LYNers, here it is again, LYN EXCLUSIVE Wii Point Purchase , the Brazil Hack!. rclxms.gif

Now, to spilll the beans about the Wii Points.

I chose the country as Brazil. This prompted the console to view the User agreement, and i agreed to the terms.

Load up the Wii Shop, and either one of two things will happen. One, if you have linked to a 'My Nintendo" account at Nintendo.com as what i did, there will be a screen asking you that you have changed country.I picked US in both the Wii setting and My Nintendo registration as well. Picking a different country breaks the link between the info in your Wii and the ones in My Nintendo. You can simply change back to US once you have done transacting in Wii Shop later.

After following the screen prompts, the system will load you up back to Wii Shop.I find it that most of the time that it will generate error accessing the Wii Shop since you need to view the user areement again, agreeing to it, then enter Wii Shop again. Do that.

Once you are finally in, add your Wii Point via credit card. Now, here's where it differs between Brazilian and US credit card registration. US cards requires the address, county, state and zip code to be dead accurate as your credit card, which means the attempt will always be rejected. Brazilian credit card only requires a postal code, and it accepted the random Brazilian postal code i entered. Enter your credit ccard details as per normal( cc number, name, expiry date, and cvv 3 digit number) and on the next page, enter your random Brazilian postal code. Voila! SUCCESS! rclxms.gif

I bought 10,000 Wii Point so that i dont have to go through that hassle again. Each 1000 points cost USD10. Bought myself, Super Mario 64, Bonk's Adventure, F-Zero, Wario's Woods, Bomberman and Sonic, and still have 7000+ points to spend! thumbup.gif

Here are the pics of my channels, and the download processes screens:-

Now to tackle the slow download/access to Wii Shop, Nintendo.com FAQ page recommends setting your router wireless channel to either 1 or 11. As and added precaution, i disabled all other speed boosting options (Super G Non DLink) and it works relatively well. Do note that everytime you do that country switch thing, the system need to calibrate itself to the country's Wii Shop config, and this, i think, results in the errors entering Wii Shop.
If you need a Brazillian postal code, simply Google "Brazil address" and go from there.

PM if need any further info.im off to get myself Super Star Soldier and Golden Axe! drool.gif

It was actuallly putting 2 and 2 together, coriandery. I read the article regarding how Wii Point cards wont be availlable in Latin America countried, so all Wii Point distribution is done via Wii Shop for them. Brazil is one of these countries, and i tried from there on. biggrin.gif

They already charge my credit card, what else they wanna charge? unsure.gif

I offer an alternative to waiting for the Point cards, use at your discretion.

do u need to recreate an account for this ? or u can just change ur main Mii account's country to Brazil ? or is it just the same like what we all did for the 360 ?

In my case, i had to change country. I have registered at My Nintendo with US as country of residence, and had linked the My Nintendo account to my Wii. Changing the country setting in my wii, breaks this link and prompts the User agreement message to come out. Once this is done, i can access the Brazil version of Wii Shop.

I reckon that, you can straight away choose Brazil as your country of residence when u register at My Nintendo (www.nintendo.com), and link it direct to your Wii and choose your Wii country option as Brazil as well, without the need to break this link and continue from there. But i figure that i might need the access to US exclusive stuff/content (if there are any) at My Nintendo, so i picked US at My Nintendo for this matter.

The account at My Nintendo is permanent, you cannot change country setting once set, the one in your Wii is flexible,.

I also think you can skip all this hogwash if you choose NOT TO link your Wii to yourr My Nintendo account. The linking is meant to save your details and avoid the hassle ofentering CC details everytime you want to buy your Wii Points via Wii Shop. My method breaks this link and require you to input your CC details every single time you want to make your purchase.

I hope that;s not too complicated. biggrin.gif

i see...i think i get it..

so basically u just change the region settings on the Wii and leave the My Nintendo account permanently on US ..? so when it comes to the time u need to download US contents...u can just change the region on the console back to US again? that'll be nice.. but god knows when i'm able to get my hands on one... tongue.gif

Yup, that's basically it, although the contents between US and Latin American countries are basically the same. Them Japanese got themselves lucky, their Wii Shop contents gives them Super Castlevania SNES and Gunstar Heroes this Dec.02nd while the rest of the can only wait and drool.....
