My dad requires data plan. Now he doesn't need it often, so no point paying Rm30 a month, what we're looking for is like those 250MB per month plan or 50-100 MB per week. Has anyone done the math and figured out which telco , MVNO or not, offers the cheapest rate?

Also if its setup on recurring will be a lot easier.

Don't think you will get any cheap plan that gives 250MB per month.

Unless your usage is a lot less, Maxis tablet plan is $30 for a year and 1GB free total. That is about 83MB per month. Or you add another $45 for additional 2GB for a year. That will bring the cost to $75 a year with around 250MB a month. No voice and SMS.

Maxis actually does not seem to want to promote it so the only place is get this is the Curve.

Just use #hotlink/diGi Smart Prepaid/Celcom Magic sim that came with free data. Slow it is, but it is free. Enough for light social messaging like WhatsApp.

Can consider Hotlink Tablet Plan then, solely for data.

At RM30 for 1GB valid for a year, you can either add another 1GB later on for RM25 which is valid for 60 days, or extend another 365 days with 2GB for RM45.

Search forum for xpax burung hantu - 5 bucks and has data
Change to another sim when data runs out - repeat -rinse and recycle
