Hey guys, my 2 year old Asus ROG decided to die today so I have to look for a new gaming laptop. I am choosing between Dell new Inspiron and Illegear Q5 Evo.

Dell offers good specs at very low price, but according to reviews the new Inspiron use TN screen instead of IPS, is there large difference between IPS and TN screens? My old Asus ROG use IPS screen, will I notice the difference?

Illegear Q5 Evo on the other hand offers similar specs and similar price like Dell, and bundle with IPS screen.

Not sure about the Q5 but yeah I've read quite a lot of opinions online about the Dell's TN display. You can read a review here too on the laptop:

In short, yes the display is shit. Either you get the UHD variant, if it is available or change it on your own with a better replacement.

It reminds me of my Lenovo Y50. The display was also shit, it got similar reviews on it as the Dell but I got used to it eventually.

If the Q5 is anything similar to the S5, then the display is pretty good. Not the best but definitely way ahead than the Dell.

The big plus IPS displays are the higher accurary of color reproduction and also the wider angle view compared to TN displays.
