Hello. Recently i buy new laptop lenovo y70 with win 8.1 os. I want to upgrade to win 10 but cant find the notification to upgrade it like my friends laptop. Contact lenovo service centre and they say the notification to upgrade is limited and already finish. Is it true? Iinm the free upgrade available until next year. If i install win 10 using boot pendrive without the free upgrade notification, will it void my current license with win 8.1.
Thank you for any information..

Hi, to upgrade here is what you do. 1. Go and run windows update, install all important updates. 2. It might take a few restarts and a few run of windows update to complete all the updates. 3. once your computer is updated, you should see the get windows 10 notification. From there you can reserve and upgrade to windows 10.

Run the installer from usb thumbdrive and let it install. Easy peasy.
