I see many guides on wedding planning, proposals, but none on registration.

Recently my friend went to register and the rules change already. Last time if both bride and groom even is IC different state, they can go to Putrajaya to register. But for my friend he is from Ipoh, he told me rules change already. So he had to change his address to Selangor first before going to register together, otherwise they must each register in separate locations.

Anyone care to share the latest? And also your experiences, and things to look out for, to bring? What is the process like, etc?

Mine is:

my partner: KL IC
myself: Selangor IC

Process:

1. get the ROM form (2x) and fill it up
2. Submit 1x to JPN putrajaya (gonna ROM there). I booked my date on the submission day itself
3. Submit 1x to JPN Shah Alam, Selangor
4. after 21 days, JPN Shah Alam issue me a letter
5. Submit the issued letter from JPN Shah Alam to JPN Putrajaya
6. Currently waiting for my ROM day at putrajaya

Thanks for sharing. So IC different state still can do together at Putrajaya? How come putrajaya one take so long to reply haha...they holiday there?

What about perak and melaka marrying in putrajaya?

i dunno if it's because my partner's IC is KL so we are allowed to have our ROM at putrajaya. the best is to talk to the JPN ppl. I've communicated with them through their FB page. Just PM them and they will reply.

For my case,

Me - from NSDK
Fiance - from Selangor

Submit one in NSDK, one in Selangor, tell them want to register in JPN putrajaya.
Wait for 21 days, Go back JPN NSDK & JPN Selangor to collect
Then go to Putrajaya to fix date.

They only follow IC address, unless u change ur address.

Just done my ROM last Saturday at Putrajaya JPN

Me : Johor
Wife : Selangor

We wasted quite sometimes on the procedures(look at the notes), but basically this is what we have done

1) Change my IC address to Selangor at putrajaya JPN (IC department)
2) Get the ROM form (2x) and fill it up (Remember both IC photocopy, passport photo)
3) Submit 1x to JPN putrajaya (gonna ROM there) and select the date ROM (Putrajaya) (make sure you have the list of preferred dates on hand, booking the slot is hard especially weekend)
4) Submit 1x to JPN Petaling Jaya (Selangor)
5) After 21 days, collect the letter from JPN Petaling Jaya
6) During the day, submit the letter, our IC, 2 witness IC on the counter and get the number at counter
7) Enjoy taking photo
8) Number called, enter the hall
9) Follow the instruction from officer
10) Take ur time take some photo (It is nicely decorated and very comfy inside)
11) Now you are married~


Note: You can request them to change the IC address via their system NOT the physical IC
Note: You only need pesuruhjaya sumpah if your ROM take place in temple or church (there is one pesuruhjaya sumpah in JPN putrajaya)
