i am an avid investor of AA and i have about roughly 200 lots of AA in my portfolio.. my average price is around 1.2..which i have accumulated over the years.. but after looking at the effects of COVID, im not sure wether to just swallow the hard pill and take losses and focus on other stocks .. i am down about 40% now
*
I'm sure u managed to get all the special dividend right?

Calculate it with your entry cost..

Still losses of 40%?

I'm sure it's would be minimal to none...

Personally.. AA recovery would take little longer...
At least another few more years.. demand won't recover this year for sure.. next year might have some chance...

U can wait or not?
Best to cut loss...

If budget airline can price very competitive against others.. they might get additional pie...

Because I'm sure many companies cutting cost...
Executive also needs to fly budget 😁 no more full service 😩

So many companies have either asked their gov for bailout or filed for bankruptcy. Latest is LATAM airlines.

AA is still going??  laugh.gif
airlines are talking about reducing meal time and frequency onboard.

So even full service also feel like half service.  sad.gif

don't know what's going on about the so-called bailout..
seems like nothing is moving right now? or maybe backdoor dealing nego goin on? cool2.gif

well cost saving measures to survive..
so it's become half service airline laugh.gif

The director fee also needs to be cut..
Too much being paid now...

The Thai government is set to offer 24 billion baht ($769 million) in loans to seven local airlines to help them counter the blow from the coronavirus outbreak as authorities firm up plans to revive tourism by gradually easing travel restrictions.

The seven airlines set to receive financial aid from the government include AirAsia Group Bhd.’s Thai AirAsia and its long-haul unit, Thai AirAsia X, Bangkok Airways Pcl, Nok Airlines, Thai Smile Airways Co. Ltd., Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet Air.

Short sellers take aim at AirAsia after stock hits 1-year high

KUALA LUMPUR (BLOOMBERG) – Short sellers are circling AirAsia Group Bhdafter the stock more than doubled from recent lows.

The carrier, once the pioneer of a low-cost flying revolution in Asia, is now the third-most shorted stock by volume in Malaysia, exchange data show. Top Glove Corp remains at the top of short sellers’ list, which includes other glove makers such as Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd and Hartalega Holdings Bhd.

AirAsia shares have jumped amid bets the worst may be over as global vaccine roll-outs boost market hopes for global reopenings. The rally has left the gap between analysts’ 12-month price target for the stock and its current value at the widest in almost three years. Its relative strength index rose to 83 on Monday (March 15), a level signaling overbought conditions.

While a revival in travel “will be exponentially rewarded in airline stocks, in the case of AirAsia there might be some concern around balance sheet,” said Nirgunan Tiruchelvam, head of consumer sector equity research at Tellimer. “Within the cohort of airline stocks, it might be looking a bit vulnerable.”

AirAsia was highlighted a month ago in the online community by Bursabets, a Malaysian version of Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum, with the title ‘Any BULLS wanna fly with AirAsia?’ The stock trades at RM1.23 versus the 12-month price target of 55 sen. It has surged almost 40 per cent so far this year.

AirAsia proposes name change to Capital A Bhd, awaiting shareholders, regulatory approvals

AirAsia Group Bhd (AirAsia) has proposed to change the company's name to Capital A Bhd.

In an exchange filing today, the low-cost carrier said the name was approved by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) and reserved by the company on December 28, 2021.

However, the change of name is subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company at a general meeting to be convened at a date to be announced later.

"A circular to shareholders with details of the proposed change of name will be issued to the shareholders in due course."

AirAsia said the proposal, if approved by the shareholders, will take effect from the date of issuance of the notice of registration of new name by the CCM to the company.

AirAsia had recently completed its renounceable rights issue to existing shareholders, raising RM974.5 million to provide support to its overall fundraising strategy.

The rights issue entailed the issuance of seven-year redeemable convertible unsecured Islamic debt securities (RCUIDS) with a nominal value of 75 sen each, plus free detachable warrants, on the basis of two RCUIDS with one warrant for every six AirAsia shares held.

Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said after the most challenging two years in commercial aviation history, the end was finally within reach.

"We have survived the pandemic. We have restructured, relaunched and are now in a stronger position to recover faster.

"We have used the downtime in flying to review every aspect of our airline operations with a strict focus on cost containment and implementing an optimal network and fleet strategy to put in place a solid platform to return to the skies leaner and stronger than ever in all key markets," he said.
