Wow tried my luck at 3 Digi stores these couple of days for the 256gb iPhone x and not one single positive experience.
1) 1U - only 64gb in stock. For such a big mall, I'd expect your branch there to be better stocked for potentially bigger customer demands. I asked them about Digi's accessories offer but they said no offers available at the moment. Digi's website was advertising stuff like 2 x Targus lightning cables for RM65, muvit cases & accessories for 30% off, etc. Oh well.
2) Gardens - Staff there couldn't really be bothered. No sense of customer service at all. Their stupid system of asking their staff for a queue number SMS just doesn't work. And apparently you can only ask one of their staff for this SMS. Which staff to ask for one? Well you'll have to try your luck and get one of their other staff to tell you. When you do manage to speak to someone, don't expect them to be friendly or polite.
To top it off, I had to find the instructions to get someone to talk to me on a sign in the middle of their wall, sandwiched between all their other advertisements and merchandise. Today's a weekday. Imagine going there on weekends. My advice, just don't.
3) BSC - I got my last two contract phones from Digi at this branch. Absolutely best customer experience among all their branches and employees there have always been friendly, accurate and helpful. I left Gardens and reached BSC at 8.50. Reached the Digi store at 9 to see the staff leaving the shop and locking up. Goodness, even the celcom branch next to them was still open!!! Can't blame them though, Google seems to tell me their official closing time is at 9. Just disappointing to see them close so much earlier than everyone else and in a mall at that.
Guess Digi is helping me save money. They're telling me the ipx is not for me haha. Even their website has gone down for hours now. Not that it has been any stable at all on other days.
Digi, Digi. Going from bad to worse to complete shit. Apa la nak jadi.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 3 2018, 10:23 PM) Sounds crazy lol....I was with digi a decade ago (for 2 years) so I kinda understand what you're going through, and sad they still haven't changed a bit. Maxis and celcom on the other hand have more stocks especially maxis with the 256...and they replenish quite frequently...so far 6 out of the 10 times I walk into maxis, they have 256 in stock, mostly space grey and some have both..just sharing my experience Haha and I was with Maxis for 2 years a decade ago! I wouldn't mind porting back to Maxis but their plans have always and will always be overly cut throat. Oh well, guess I'll see if I really want to go ahead with the x. Don't like spending (A LOT OF) money and be stressed out about the experience.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 3 2018, 10:35 PM) Yea it's a lot of difference 78 digi vs 128 on maxis....oh well....I have both lines now with maxis and celcom for 8 years already...maxis is the way to go...celcom was a mess but it's company line so I couldn't be bothered...I have 2 phones wherever I go and often put them side by side to compare...the coverage on celcom is meh....I'm always in pj area and that's just my experience anyway, others might have diff thoughts Yea I'm always in PJ too. Ever since I moved to my new place a couple of years back, maxis coverage has been absolutely atrocious. And back in my hometown, only Digi has good LTE coverage inside my house. I was practically forced to port to Digi after being Maxis' customer for so many many years. QUOTE(attw @ Jan 3 2018, 10:37 PM) I can attest to the Gardens experience. They really don’t have any sense of prioritizing customers or potential customers, ha ha. I know the 1U one is just a dealer, right, and not a DiGi center? That’s probably why they have different promotions (or lack of it). I'm not really sure about that though. I remember asking before and was told they're a Digi center. Again, I could be wrong. It's just what I was told by the staff.

QUOTE(Eric_C @ Jan 4 2018, 09:47 AM) i got the same experience exactly like what u have described for the Gardens branch and other branches as well. I done the reservation since 4/12 and no one bother to follow up with me even a simple sms or email until i go back to the branch which i have done the reservation previously to ask again. Guess what.. the customer service just telling me there is no any stock at any Digi branch until 2018 (I visited during the last week of Dec17). On the SAME DAY, i went to Bukit Bintang branch to try my luck again, THERE IS PLENTY OF STOCKS! And i got it ON THE SAME DAY which that earlier customer service lady told me NO ANY STOCK AVAILABLE at ANY OF THE BRANCH. Give all the digi staff a good claps and Kudos Digi will be only getting worst with all this kind of staff Damn bro that's bad. My suggestion would be to visit the BSC branch. By far the most professional among all their branches. At least I hope they still are. The SS2 one wasn't too bad but I've not gone back there for quite some time now. For all you know they could've become just as bad as the Gardens branch. Seriously not sure what's wrong with digi nowadays. Nepotism at work? Their website, for a telco the size of digi, is nothing short of pure embarrassing. Doesn't load properly at least 80% of the time for months now. Don't even bother paying your bill through the website. It will just timeout after your payment is done and you'll either have to wait a couple of days to see if the payment was captured even though the amount has already been deducted from your bank account or write in to them to tell about this "error". The chance of their customer service replying is also 50-50 at best. We're just unlucky we have weak regulators in this country. Operators and their staff here behave like they're God's gift to their customers and we should be thankful to them for allowing us to pay obscene prices for their products and services.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 6 2018, 09:27 PM) Phone number not stated in their website though Could you do me a favor bro? Could you ask them why is there a need to pay GST on advance payment? I mean the advance payment is like a deposit that will eventually be used to offset the monthly bills which include GST right? Doesn’t that mean we get charged for GST twice? Or perhaps anyone else here knows the answer? I noticed it’s the same for every telco Sure thing bro. But your monthly bill amount will be your subscription - the advanced payment right? So the GST will only be charged on the balance and not your entire monthly subscription. I guess that's why you're required to pay GST on the advanced payment "in advance".

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 6 2018, 09:53 PM) I mean let’s say I take the iPhone X 64GB on the 78 plan. Total price I would have to pay is Device - 3895 Advance - 78 Upfront - 530 Total upon checking out would be 4503 + 6% = 4773.18, which means I would have paid Device - 4128.70 (3895+233.70) Pre-payment - 644.48 (608+36.48) And if I’m not mistaken, DiGi will credit back only 608 into my account, and every month when I get billed, it will be 78 + GST, so doesn’t that mean I’m getting taxed twice? Or is that the way it is? Just wondering coz obviously numbers and taxes just aren’t my strong suites Actually this is not what I understand from their explanation. Your advanced payment of 530 will be credited back to you over 24months so roughly 22 per month. Your monthly bill will thus become 78-22 = 56 and the gst charged on your bill will be for this amount. This is why they charge you gst on your rm530 advanced payment first.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 7 2018, 02:59 PM) 2nd hear by digi? Since when digi has warranty coverage ? Can u still bring back to aasp on 2nd year? QUOTE(attw @ Jan 7 2018, 03:00 PM) That's crappy. They shouldn't be allowed to force that on customers. That sounds dodgy. I wonder who does the 2nd year warranty repairs.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 7 2018, 07:25 PM) Wahh and diff outlet has diff price...sounds fishy...anyway did anyone enquire how the warranty works? Send in to aasp? Yup sounds more and more dodgy. Actual digi centres offering different warranty prices at different branches as well? Something seems very wrong here.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 7 2018, 09:58 PM) ...and nothing about this is mentioned in their website. I did manage to see this but it makes no mention of the iphone x. http://new.digi.com.my/ecomm_C/services/de...rranty_PostpaidMax insured device value seems to be rm3000 and the premium costs rm180 for iphones at this value.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 7 2018, 10:05 PM) And it’s supposedly optional. Shouldn’t be compulsory unless it’s a Zerolution or EasyPhone like program. You're absolutely right. Forgot to mention it's optional. Seems like internally, digi is actually worse than we first thought. A lot of funny business going on.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 8 2018, 08:00 AM) Well, you're still going to sign with them this week right? Maybe you can enlighten us after you speak to them Ok just got back from Digi center bsc. Apparently they're offering no such thing. There is no compulsory insurance to purchase for the 64gb model, which I've just gotten myself.

Oh just to add, they apparently have an official Digi center as well as a dealer outlet in Sunway itself. The compulsory insurance thingy was probably provided by the dealer's outlet. Maybe someone should write in to Digi to inform them of this shady business model operated by their dealers.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 8 2018, 05:32 PM) wow ok.... which means you need to send your phone to the shop itself for warranty?... wow.. I believe so bro. 300 bucks is just slightly more than the price apple charges to extend my applecare plan on my iPad Pro for the 2nd year. 300 bucks for the 2nd year warranty on the x is most probably for in house or 3rd party repairs.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 8 2018, 06:04 PM) yea man..such a daylight robbery... sadly no applecare for iphone.. lol That's the thing that really irritates me about apple my. Even singapore enjoys 2nd year apple care (optionally) on their iphones. Why not us? We're paying considerably more for our phones here.
