Done some experiment recently, on FF XII

Very strange results:

(1) Use Nero, SONY DVD+R at 16x. - Can work, but doesn't work with CodeBreaker (no cheating).

(2) Use Alcohol 120%, BENQ DVD+RW at 4x - works great, Codebreaker works.

(3) Use Alcohol 120%, SONY DVD+R at 8x, can work, but doesn't work with codebreaker.

So i've toasted 2 DVD+R already...(i wanna use Cheatcode...no time for RPG farming).

Could it be the speed(8x) or is it the media that's giving the problem??

That probably explains why there are 2 kind of prices for PS2 dvds out there .... like D5 and D9
