I am not saying only for RTS and football. I saying, if he focus on FPS games, tarantula's price is not worith it la. There are FPS gaming keyboard like G15 ma. Superb FPS keyboard. And where the hell you got it at 160...whoever that posted it.
*
I'm still puzzled.

Aren't G15 and Tarantula similar keyboards? Why do you say Tarantula is focused on say..RTS type games (which I understand) but G15 is an FPS keyboard?

I'll talk from DA's point of view.

As Razer claims,DA was designed for low sensitivity gamers. And I feel they've kept to their word laugh.gif

For one,the infamous ESReality tests would show you that it'll hardly skip, which insanely high mulfunction speed, but that's pretty irrelevant to most of us here,so I'll skip this.

The next most obvious thing bout DA is the low lift off distance (due to infrared sensor as Razer claims). My DA now stops tracking when having 2 cds underneath it (roughly 2.4mm) which helps if you're low sensitivity and lift your mouse often (lifting high is a hassle) Copperhead on the other hand still tracks with 3 cds underneath it (lift off distance over 4.6mm) Btw I'm using an eXactMat. Tests have shown that DA stops tracking even with 1 cd underneath it on other surfaces, which is freakin awesome laugh.gif

Another thing which I like bout the DA is the 2 buttons on the left hand side.Instead of having so many buttons, they opted for 2 fairly larger buttons on the left which is designed real well imo. It's really natural/easy to reach these buttons and they take slightly more force to push (so u won't accidently press it) as opposed to the regular buttons on top.

On a personal note,I like the ergonomic design and it looks real sleek, having a seemless body (think BMW laugh.gif) The top part is one whole piece with a slit on top making 2 buttons, real cool.

Looking back at the CH,stuff that I would miss include :-

The 2 neon pipes on the side. No,not only because it's bling (lol) but because it provides a very nice grip, but the DA is nice to hold in its own way.

The 2 buttons on the right though harder to reach,is a nice option to switch DPI on the fly via the mouse. But I believe DA has the option to change any button to On-The-Fly Sensitivity, plus advance features which allow either a single key or macro to do this for you.I just haven't played with the features.Simply put,the 2 buttons on the right though may be relatively hard to reach, might be missed by some.

800 dpi? laugh.gif This is regular dpi you would find on other mice. DA only allows you to switch between 1800,900 and 450 sweat.gif whichi is slightly odd. However this can be solved by doin some simple calculations and either reducing the sensitivity in the control panel (unfortunately this is not numerical,it's a slider which can cause confusion) or by adjusting the sensitivity in game itself.

this one has been gone thru countless number of times.
as you know CH/DB is symmetrical mouse.
so the 2 buttons on right side are for LEFT HANDERS to use.

razer CEO is a lefty, thats why all razer mouses til the habu and DA are symmetrical so both right and left handers can use.

and i never use DPI switching, i use on-the-fly sensitivity cos much much finer adjustment.
*
Hmm,now it's coming back to me.Haha forgot bout this when I was thinking of what to write, sry blush.gif

tongue.gif

But my statement is still correct in a sense,"the 2 right buttons will be missed by some" i.e. the left handers laugh.gif

And I still think DA's 2 left buttons are easier to reach than CH's one,imo at least

Guys, when i customize my keys, does it saves in the keyboard or the comp itself. Let say if i take to a cyber, will my keys change?
*
You're speaking of the Tarantula right?

I don't own one,but based on what I've seen,I believe it is as such :-

Your tarantula can save up to 100 profiles, but only 5 of those profiles are stored on the 32kb on board memory. This is to say,if you customize your keys and save it into any of the first 5 profiles, you can bring these settings along to the cyber cafe.

If i'm not wrong, DB uses infra-red, your eye is not suppose to be able to see infra-red... So i think it's normal... in other words, it should be that way...

Btw, what color is ur fren's DB?
*
DB does use infra red optical sensor according to Razer's knowledgebase

You WILL feel it moving faster, even in windows itself.Double the speed to be exact (from 450 to 900,or 900 to 1800)

Yo elim, i have heard reviews online, but i wanna hear it from a ppl that test it out. Is it good for rts players like me??? War3, Starcraft those stuff....is it more accurate or less as the DPI is higher
*
RTS players..hmm,that's hard for me to judge since I only play RTS games once in a while casually.

First off,I don't think there would be a problem accuracy wise, the Death Adder is pretty darn accurate ( u need accuracy in FPS games to,right? wink.gif )

The obvious question would be the clicking;if it can withstand high apm and imo it can, seems pretty nice to click at high pace,to me at least. But u might wanna test it out yourself, just find one and randomly click to see if it suits your needs.Supposedly Razer Krait is designed for RTS games and supports up to 1200apm (lol) but it kinda small.

Oh i see.. the squeaking sound.. i think cant RMA lo.. try and apply some non-conductive grease onto it? should work...

By the way, what's the difference between Razer Mantis Control Pad and Razer ExactMat Neoprene. Both of them has almost the same price. Is ExactMat Neoprene is same like the ExactMat(Exact rest) but without the arm rest thingy?
*
Mantis Control Pad = mousepad

ExactMat Neoprene = casing to keep the ExactMat mousepad

So yea,big difference there

Phoenixwunin

First off, don't bo too bothered by your mousepad. It'll play both RTS games and FPS games equally well. Trust me,I use an exactmat (which has both control and speed sides) and enjoy shooting on both sides.

That said, what's important is what you want in your mouse.Main points of consideration, imo, include: -

CH :-
-Suited for both left and right handed users.Neon pipes give you a nice grip.
-Has 7 buttons,(5 are decently comfortable to reach, the other 2 will require some effort)
-Has onboard memory (really useful if you need to bring 5 diff settings along wherever you go)
-Has 3 different colors to choose frm (green really matches ur mat)

DA :-
-Has 3g infrared sensor (refer explanation below),which allows you to move your mouse at insane speeds
-Right handed shape with nice rubbery like top, really comfortable to hold.
-Side buttons (only 2,as opposed to CH's 4) are relatively easier to press
-Pulsating logo is cooler here tongue.gif

Explanation:-
About the sensor,it won't make a difference if you don't move your mouse at high speeds. The question is,do you move your mouse at speeds of 0.9m/s and above? I'm not talking about covering such a distance,I'm talking about speed (I know it's hard to quantify in real life, but u get the idea)
At such speeds, the Copperhead is known to buckle and you won't be able to track. The DA on the other hand can survive speeds of up to 4m/s (no gamer reaches this kinda speed,so ur DA will never buckle under speed)
So if you move ur mouse at high speeds (generally low sensitivity gamers) the sensor point is relavant and should be considered seriously. If not,you can take that particular point out from the consideration.

Edit :-
Or to make things easier for u,as sean392 (microsoft fanboi) has pointed out,u could try to get ur hands on both for testing,do some gaming and see which u prefer tongue.gif
