Is there any other brand/model that can compete with the samsung 931C in the RM850-1k range? It's primary use will be for gaming. Some user comments are appreciated.

Whats the best 17" lcd model for gaming? Yes, I know the 931C is 19". The 17" is for a friend, who argues a 17" lcd display quality is better than 19" if both sizes native resolution, contrast ratio and response time are the same. I wonder if the human eye can see the difference, although one area that interest me would be reduction of ghosting due to this. His budget is RM650-750.

Hope this helps. Doesn't anyone own a Samsung 931C? I'd like user comments on this monitor before deciding to buy it. Will it be obsolete in 2 years? It's price is expensive and few retailers sell it.

Is the extra >RM70 compared to 940BF worth it? Any comments on the FP93GX?

Fyi, a friend of mine recently purchased a Samsung 740N for his sis. He was very satisfied with the image quality, though he did not use it for gaming test yet cos d rig too slow . He himself uses a Samsung 793MB crt.

Went to Servex few days ago to ask for Samsung 740BF and 940BF. The staff there said BOTH models are no longer sold because of obsolesence. I wonder how true this is, since the person also said there was no new models to replace them.

Anyone have info on this?

Will there be no more 17/19" lcd monitor launched to meet budget gamers needs? 20"WS is a little big to play Oblivion on my measely 7900GT, but cant find a high-performance 17/19" to buy. The 740BF going extinct, not surprising given the price of 20"WS lcd.
